Abstract
Penelitian biologi reproduksi lorjuk merupakan salah satu
upaya untuk melestarikan sumberdaya hayati potensial di Pantai
Pamekasan Madura, Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mengetahui tingkat kematangan gonad (TKG) serta Gonadal
Condition Index (GCI) pada populasi lorjuk (Solen sp.) di pantai
Talang Siring, Pamekasan, Madura. Pengambilan sampel
dilakukan pada bulan Januari-April 2015 dengan interval waktu
2 minggu sekali. Tingkat kematangan gonad ditentukan dengan
pengamatan mikroskopis preparat apus gonad dengan
pewarnaan eosin. Pengukuran GCI diperoleh dari hasil
pembagian berat gonad segar dengan cangkang kering. Hasil
penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa TKG populasi lorjuk di Pantai
Talang Siring pada bulan Januari sebagian besar adalah TKG II
(60-70%), mencapai tahap matang pada bulan Februari TKG III
(27%) dan awal bulan Maret TKG III ( 50%), dan mulai memijah
pada akhir bulan Maret TKG IV (3%) hingga bulan April TKG IV
(23%).Nilai TKG lorjuk (Solen sp.) memiliki korelasi positif yang
kuat (r=0.829) dengan ukuran oosit. Nilai GCI tertinggi (0,25)
menandakan tahap pematangan pada populasi lorjuk di awal
Februari 2015. Nilai GCI terendah (0,15) menandakan tahap
pemijahan dan istirahat pada populasi lorjuk di awal April 2015.

The reasearch of razor clam reproductive biology is the one of
effort to conserve the marine natural resources in Pamekasan,
Madura, Indonesia. The aim of study is to determine the stage of
gametogenic scale and gonadal condition index (GCI) of razor
clam in Talang Siring coast, Pamekasan. Sampling was
conducted in January-April 2015 with a time interval of 2 weeks.
Gametogenic scael was determined by observation of gonad
smears that stained with eosin. GCI was calculated as gonad
fresh weight/valve dry weight. The result indicated that GS of the
razor clam population at Talang siring coast in January were in
GS stage II (60-70%), then reached in a mature stage GS stage
III in February (27%), in the early of March was in GS stage III
(50%) and start to spawning at the end of March GS stage IV
(3%) until April GS stage IV (23%). GS stage of razor clam have
a strong postive correlation with size of oocyte. The peak value
of GCI that indicatesthe gonad of maturation in population of
razor clam was fund in February 2015. The lowest of GCI value
(0,15) that indicates the stage of spawning and resting was
observed in the early of April 2015
