Abstract

faktorial penuh (full factorial experiment).

The instability in production planning (or more known as schedule
instability) is always happened. It causes the companies to reduce the level of
instability. This research try to analyze the influence of component commonality (
the using of common component in the different product structure) to the level of
schedule instability, service level, and total cost of two stage supply chain,
involved one manufacturer and one supplier which is integrated each other
through by coordination mechanism (information sharing related to
ordering*order information). A variety of different operational condition is also
considered, such as : variability, uncertainty demand, cost structure, structure and
level product, and inventory policy which is implemented by company. Those are
be parts of this research. This research used full factorial experiment study.
The result of this research is gotten by coordination mechanism which is
could reduce the level of schedule instability in every entity such as manufacturer
and supplier. Beside that, this coordination also could reduce the risk of transfer
which is always done by manufacturer to supplier at production planning. The
policy of component commonality could reduce schedule instability and total cost,
but could increase service level in manufacturer and supplier. Operational
condition such as cost structure of manufacturer also has positive influence to
three performance of this research.
