Abstract

Sintesis ZIF-8 (Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks-8) telah berhasil dilakukan dengan mereaksikan seng nitrat dan 2-metilimidazol dalam media DMF (N’N-dimetilformamida) selama 24 jam. Efek perbandingan logam-ligan dan pelarut dalam sintesis ZIF-8 telah diuji. Sintesis ZIF-8 dilakukan lima kali dengan variasi rasio molar logam (Zn2+) : ligan (MeIM) berturut-turut 1:1; 1:1,5; 1:2; 1:2,5; dan 1:3. Sintesis ZIF-8 dalam pelarut DMF pada temperatur 120 °C paling optimum, didapatkan pada perbandingan molar logam ligan 1:2. Selanjutnya penelitian sintesis ZIF-8 dikembangkan dengan variasi rasio volume pelarut metanol : DMF berturut-turut 30:0, 27:3, 24:6, 21:9, dan 18:12. Padatan ZIF-8 tidak terbentuk dalam campuran pelarut metanol-DMF, meskipun sintesis dilakukan dengan perbandingan logam-ligan paling optimum. =============================================================================================== Synthesis of ZIF-8 (Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks-8) has been successfully carried out by reacting zinc nitrate and 2-methylimidazole in DMF (N’N-dimetilformamida) for 24 hours. The effects of the metal-ligand and solvent ratio on the synthesis of ZIF-8 was investigated. ZIF-8 synthesis performed five times with variations molar ratio of metal (Zn2+) : ligand (MeIM) are 1:1; 1:1,5; 1:2; 1:2,5; and 1:3 respectively. The result show that the most optimum ZIF-8 synthesis in DMF at 120 °C, obtained in molar ratio of metal-ligand 1:2. The study was then extended to the reaction with variations of solvent volume ratio (methanol:DMF) are 30:0, 27:3, 24:6, 21:9, and 18:12 respectively. ZIF-8 was not formed in the mixture of methanol-DMF at 70 °C, although synthesis has been carried out at the most optimum ratio of metal-ligand.
