Abstract

Prediksi tekanan pori sebelum proses pengeboran menjadi hal yang sangat penting karena banyaknya berat lumpur (Mud Weight) dapat direpresentasikan ketika melakukan pengeboran. Pada daerah North Sumatra, Overpressure terjadi akibat dominasi tebal dari batuan shale pada formasi Baong dan Keutapang. Dalam memprediksi tekanan pori pada daerah tersebut, digunakan pendekatan dari metode Eaton untuk prediksi tekanan pori pada formasi Keutapang dan metode Bower yang dimodifikasi pada konstanta A dan B untuk prediksi tekanan pori di formasi Baong. Pendekatan pada penelitian ini dibedakan karena metode Bower cocok untuk prediksi nilai tekanan pori akibat mekanisme unloading pada formasi Baong. Sedangkan metode Eaton diterapkan pada formasi Keutapang karena formasi tersebut tidak sepenuhnya didominasi oleh batuan shale seperti pada formasi Baong. Kemudian, tekanan pori diraih dengan dimasukkannya beberapa parameter seperti tekanan overburden, tekanan normal hidrostatik, kecepatan normal compaction trend, kecepatan interval, konstanta Bower dan Drill Steam Test (DST). Dari hasil analisa, didapatkan zona Overpressure mulai dari upper formasi Keutapang dengan nilai tekanan pori sekitar 3000 Psi dan zona yang high Overpressure pada base formasi Baong sekitar 7000 – 10000 Psi. Selain itu, hasil pemodelan penampang tekanan pori pada lokasi penelitian menunjukkan zona Overpressure terbentuk karena mekanisme loading pada formasi Keutapang, mekanisme unloading pada formasi Baong, dan lateral drainage pada line 2 formasi Peutu. =================================================================
Pore pressure is a pressure that's caused by fluid inside the formation. Pore pressure prediction become very important because it could representative how much Mud Weight that we need when doing a drill. In Nort Sumatra Region, pore pressure is caused by the dominated of thick shale in Baong formation and Keutapang formation. To predict pore pressure on that area, Writer used approach from Eaton method to predict pore pressure at Keutapang formation and Bower method that Writer modified on A and B constants to predict pore pressure at Baong formation. Writer used different approach on different formation because Bower method is suitable for shale on unloading mechanism case like on Baong formation. While Eaton method was used on Keutapang formation because it's not fully dominated by shale like on Baong formation. Then, pore pressure was generated from input parameter like Overburden stress, normal hydrostatic pressure, velocity normal compaction trend, velocity interval, Bower constanta and Drill Steam Test (DST). From this research, it's conducted that there is Overpressure zone on upper formation of Keutapang with pore pressure value of 3000 ft and keep going up in parallel. Other than that, pore pressure modelling on research sites showed that Overpressure zone is made because loading mechanism on Keutapang formation, unloading mechanism on Baong formation, lateral drainage on line 2 Peutu formation.
