Abstract

Karyawan sebagai penggerak produksi perusahan sangat berperan penting dalam memajukan dan meningkatkan hasil produksi, sebab karyawan adalah aset perusahaan. Namun belakangan ini menurut hasil survei yang telah dilakukan pada PT. Petrokimia Gresik ditemukan penurunan loyalitas (employee engagement) karyawan. Karyawan didalam perusahaan terbagi kedalam kelompok generasi Y (usia 26 tahun) dan generasi baby boomers (usia 41-55 tahun), dimana kedua generasi tersebut terbagi berdasarkan golongan usia. Employee engagement dipengaruhi oleh work centrality dan narsisme, dimana work centrality sebagai sifat karyawan yang mengorientasikan kerja dan narsisme sebagai rasa percaya diri yang berlebihan. Umumnya perusahan menginginkan karyawan memiliki work centrality tinggi dan employee engagement yang juga tinggi. Hal inilah yang menjadi alasan peneliti untuk lebih mendalami keterkaitan antara work centrality dan narsisme terhadap employee engagement pada generasi Y dan generasi baby boomers. Metode MANOVA digunakan untuk melihat perbedaan antara work centrality dan narsisme dan regresi linier berganda digunakan untuk melihat pengaruh antara work centrality dan narsisme terhadap employee engagement. Hasil analisis menggunakan MANOVA memberikan hasil bahwa ada perbedaan antara work centrality dan narsisme berdasarkan golongan usia yaitu generasi Y dan generasi baby boomers dan hasil regresi memberikan hasil bahwa variabel work centrality dan narsisme berpengaruh signifikan terhadap employee engagement di PT. Petrokimia Gresik.

Employees as drivers of the company's production play an important role in advancing and improving production, because employees are assets of the company. But lately, according to survey results conducted on PT. Petrokimia Gresik employee engagement found decreased. Employees within the company are divided into Y generation (age 26 years) and baby boomers (ages 41-55 years), where the two generations are divided by age group. Employee engagement is influenced by work centrality and narcissism, where work centrality is the employee-oriented nature of work and narcissism as excessive self-confidence. Generally companies want to have high work centrality and employee engagement. This is the reason to more deepen the link between work centrality and narcissism to employee engagement in Y generation and baby boomers generation. The MANOVA method is used to see the difference between work centrality and narcissism and multiple linear regression is used to see the effect of work centrality and narcissism on employee engagement. The result of analysis with MANOVA give showing that is difference between work centrality and narcissism based on age group that is Y generation and baby boomers generation and the result of regression give a result that work centrality and narcissist variable have significant effect to employee engagement in PT. Petrokimia Gresik.
