Abstract

Air merupakan komponen lingkungan hidup yang penting bagi kelangsungan hidup dan kehidupan manusia serta makhluk hidup lainnya, sehingga untuk melestarikan fungsi air perlu dilakukan pengelolaan dan pengendalian pencemaran air secara bijaksana dengan memperhatikan kepentingan generasi sekarang dan mendatang serta keseimbangan ekologis. Pada perbatasan kota Surabaya dan Gresik terdapat pusat industri yang terletak di pesisir pantai utara Surabaya tepatnya di pinggiran Kali Lamong. Kali Lamong diperkirakan memiliki masalah penurunan kualitas air karena banyaknya industri yang tumbuh di Kali Lamong dan limbah pabrik mengalir di sepanjang Kali Lamong menuju muaranya. Dengan melihat kondisi tersebut, diduga terdapat pencemaran pada Kali Lamong. Kondisi pencemaran air di suatu perairan dapat diindikasikan melalui beberapa parameter, yaitu parameter fisika, kimia, dan biologi. Parameter fisik yang dapat diamati antara lain adalah temperatur, residu terlarut, dan residu tersuspensi (TSS). Sedangkan untuk parameter kimia antara lain pH, BOD, COD, serta kandungan logam lainnya. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat titik tercemar berdasarkan parameter BOD di 4 titik. Hasil dari uji sampel parameter diklasifikasikan berdasarkan baku mutu air PP No. 82 tahun 2001 tentang Pengelolaan Kualitas Air dan Pengendalian air kelas IV. Hasil yang didapat menunjukkan adanya 4 titik sampel yang memiliki kadar BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) diluar ambang batas. Dengan begitu dapat disimpulkan bahwa perairan di Kali Lamong tercemar. ======================================================================================================================== Water is an important component of the environment for the survival and life of humans and other living beings. It’s necessary to manage and control water pollution wisely by considering the ecological balance. On the border of the Surabaya and Gresik, there’s an industrial center located on the north coast of Surabaya. Kali Lamong is estimated to have water quality degradation problems due to growing numbers of industries in Kali Lamong and factory wastes flowing downstream. By looking at the condition, it’s suspected that there is pollution in Kali Lamong. Water pollution can be indicated through several parameters such as physical parameter, chemical parameter, and biological parameter. Physical parameters that can be observed include temperature, dissolve residue, and suspended residue (TSS). As for the chemical parameters such as pH, BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand), (COD) Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), and other metal content. The result of this study indicate that there are polluted points based on BOD parameters at 4 points. The result of sampling test is classified based on PP. 82 of 2001 on Water Quality Management and Water controlling with with fourth class purpose. The result showed that there are 4 sample points that have BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) content beyond the threshold. It can be concluded that waters in Kali Lamong is polluted.
