Abstract
Di wilayah sekitar Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) berdiri ratusan indekos yang siap dihuni oleh para mahasiswa. Saat ini, mahasiswa masih menggunakan cara lama dalam mencari indekos. Yaitu dengan mencari dan mengunjungi indekos untuk menanyai mengenai ketersediaan indekos tersebut atau informasi dari teman. Apabila menggunakan cara tersebut, mahasiswa akan susah mendapatkan indekos yang sesuai keinginan dengan banyaknya indekos yang tersedia. Maka dari itu, diperlukan sebuah aplikasi untuk memudahkan pencarian indekos.
CariKos adalah sebuah aplikasi berbasis web yang dapat membantu pencarian indekos. CariKos dapat memberikan indekos sesuai dengan keinginan pencari. CariKos juga dapat memberikan rekomendasi indekos menggunakan metode pembobotan berdasarkan beberapa parameter menggunakan Google Maps API.
Pengujian dilakukan dengan proses pendaftaran indekos dan pencarian indekos. Proses pencarian indekos dilakukan untuk melihat ketertarikan pengguna terhadap indekos yang direkomendasikan. Pengujian dilakukan untuk mengetahui keberhasilan aplikasi.
Dari hasil pengujian, dapat dilihat bahwa 93.8% dari partisipan tertarik dengan indekos yang direkomendasikan. Sebesar 93.8% dari partisipan merasa bahwa aplikasi memberikan kemudahan dalam melakukan pencarian indekos.

In the area surrounding Sepuluh Nopember Institute of
Technology (ITS) stood hundreds of boarding house ready to be
occupied by college stundents. It is however inconvinient to find a
place that suits a certain person or meets a criteria since this is has
to be done by manually visiting each houses asking the room
availability. It is proposed to develop an application that would
hopefuly make this process easier.
CariKos is a web-based application that could help search
for boarding houses. It searches and narrows down available
boarding houses in accordance with certain critera set by
searcher. It also provides boarding houses recommendations using
a weighted method on some parameters using Google Maps API.
A study is needed to see users' interest in the recommended
boarding houses done through house registrations and house
searches. The experiment is conducted to see the effectiveness of
the application.
From the experiment, it shows that 93.8% of the
participants are interesed in the recommended boarding houses. In
addition, 93.8% of the partipants felt that the application make
them easier to find a suitable boarding house.
