Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi ukuran partikel filler dan komposisi matriks terhadap sifat mekanik komposit SR/NR untuk aplikasi tread pada airless tires. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan sintesa komposit natural rubber/synthetic rubber dengan komposisi 90/10, 50/50, dan 10/90, kemudian masing-masing komposisi diberikan filler berupa agregat dari ban bekas dengan ukuran 140 µm, 224 µm, dan 280 µm. Synthetic rubber yang digunakan adalah SBR. Setelah bahan dicetak menjadi spesimen uji untuk diuji berupa FTIR, tensile, hardness, dan Thermal gravimetry analysis. Hasil penelitian ini adalah penambahan filler Carbon Black dari pengolahan limbah ban dapat meningkatkan sifat mekanik namun menurun dengan bertambahnya ukuran partikel filler. Bahan SR/NR 90/10 memiliki sifat mekanik yang paling rendah namun memiliki stabilitas TGA paling baik sedangkan bahan SR/NR 50/50, dan SR/NR 10/90 memiliki sifat mekanik yang lebih tinggi namun stabilitas TGA yang lebih rendah. Sehingga penggunaan ban bekas sebagai alternatif filler pada Airless Tires tread dapat digunakan.

Pneumatic tires has serve driver but have few lack. About
18-23 percent accident for 2004 to 2006 occur due to tires
explosion. Seeing that condition, scientist does research on nonpneumatic tire or Airless Tires. The purpose of this research are
to identify the effect of filler particle size variation and matrix
composition to mechanical properties of SR/NR composite for
airless tire tread application. In this research, SR/NR composite
synthesized with composition 90/10, 50/50, 10/90, then each
composite are given carbon black filler from waste tire
processing with particle size 140 µm, 224 µm, and 280 µm. After
that materials are molded to testing specimen and then to be
tested of FTIR, Tensile, Hardness, and Thermal Gravimetry
Analysis. The result of this research are, addition of carbon black
from waste tire processing improve mechanical properties but
decrease as particle size increase. SR/NR 90/10 composite has
the least mechanical properties but the best TGA stability, SR/NR
50/50 and SR/NR 10/90 composite have the best mechanical
properties but the least TGA stability. Use of waste tire as
alternative filler are can be used
