Abstract
Vertical Roller Mill berfungsi sebagai tempat penggilingan terak semen, dan tempat pencampuran dengan bahan aditif sehingga menghasilkan produk akhir dari semen. Pada Vertical Roller mill sering sekali terjadi kegagalan terutama pada bagian tire roller. Tire roller berfungsi untuk menggerus material yang masuk dengan berputar menggiling terak. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisa penyebab terjadinya kegagalan pada tire roller. Pengujian yang dilakukan untuk menganalisa material ini adalah, uji komposisi, metalografi, hardness, SEM,dan uji titik kritis tegangan dengan menggunakan software inventor. Dari hasil uji komposisi didapatkan material tire roller memiliki komposisi yang berbeda dari dari standar Ni-Hard 4 yaitu besi tuang putih. Kemudian dari uji kekerasan ini diperoleh data rata-rata nilai kekerasan pada daerah yang mengalami kegagalan sebesar 700 HV, dan pada daerah yang jauh dari kegagalan sebesar 664 HV. Analisa struktur mikro dan makro pada komponen tire roller ini dan analisa karakterisasi material dari SEM menunjukkan pola patah lelah getas akibat tingginya tegangan yang berulang-ulang pada daerah tire roller.===========================================================================================
Vertical Roller Mill has a function as crusher of clinker and mixing with additive material to produce the final product of cement. At Vertical Roller mill failure often occurs, especially on the tire roller. Tire roller has function to crush the clinker by the rotation. In this study conducted to analyze the causes of failure in the tire roller. Tests were carried out to analyze this material are ,composition test, metallographic, hardness, SEM, and critical stress test by using software inventor. From the test results obtained material composition ratio tire roller has different composition with the standard Ni-Hard 4 is white cast steel.From hardness test data showed the average value of hardness in area that near the failure is 700 HV, and in area far from failure is 664 HV. Micro and macro structures analysis on the tire roller component and material characterization of SEM showed fatigue brittle fracture due to high stress applied repeatedly on the tire roller area.
