Abstract

One indication of the system instability that is the occurrence of under frequency and under voltage. One of the most economical methods to prevent large-scale voltage collapse is Undervoltage Load Shedding (UVLS). Load shedding is an effort to improve the stability of the system is disrupted due to overload. One component of system stability that can be a reference to the release of the load is voltage. The release of the load is expected to recover the voltage quickly and the amount of load that is released to a minimum. In order to get a good system performance with system voltage is always stable with the provision of voltage service variation where the allowable voltage drop is only ± 5%. Load shedding simulation is performed on the bus with the highest sensitivity (VQ Sensitivity). After doing the simulation then get the rank of the sensitivity of the bus that is used as the reference of the load release sequence. The greater the sensitivity value is considered as the weakest bus, then on the bus will be the release of the load. The amount of load to release at the load shedding under the UVLS Guideline with a load release of 5% of the total load connected in the system, The greater the amount of load (MW) released, the better the system voltage condition. Load Shedding based on under voltage bus conditions and bus sensitivity can prevent the occurrence of voltage collapse in Java-Bali system 500 kV.
