Abstract

Gas alam merupakan sumber energi fosil yang paling bersih, menghasilkan emisi karbon lebih rendah dari batubara maupun minyak. Pada pengolahan gas, proses yang dilakukan untuk memisahkan komposisi produk adalah proses fraksinasi. Pada industri gas, fasilitas/bagian yang khusus untuk melakukan proses tersebut disebut liquefied petroleum gas facility plant (LPGF). Pengendalian proses adalah kunci dari industri proses yang aman dan menguntungkan dari segi ekonomi. Plantwide control (PWC) adalah desain struktur dan strategi kontrol untuk pabrik secara keseluruhan. Metode kontrol yang dipilih pada tugas akhir ini adalah PID untuk regulatory control serta decentralized supervisory control untuk supervisory control dan real time optimizer untuk optimisasinya. PWC dapat meningkatkan profit pada proses LPGF hingga 643 U$/jam (3%) dan menurunkan penggunaan energi sebesar 5 U$/jam (5.16%). Penerapan PWC pada LPGF juga mampu menghasilkan respon sistem yang stabil ketika diberi gangguan berupa perubahan laju aliran umpan. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan penurunan settling time dan maximum overshoot serta menghilangkan error steady-state.

Natural gas (NG) is the cleanest fossil fuel, producing significantly lower carbon emissions than coal or oil. On gas processing, the separaton process for product called fractionation. In gas Industry, the facility for the process called liquefied petroleum gas facility plant (LPGF). Process control is the key of safe and profitable economically process industry. Plantwide control (PWC) is the structure design and control strategy for the whole plant. Control method for this thesis are PID for regulatory control and decentralized supervisory control for supervisory control and real time optimizer for optimization. PWC is able to increase the profit of LPGF for 643 U$/hour (3%) and decrease the use of energy for 5 U$/hour (5.16%). The application of PWC for LPGF is also able to produce stable response system when disturbance was given. This phenomenom is showed by the decreasing of settling time and maximum overshoot moreover eliminate steady-state error.
