Abstract

Sebagai salah satu jenis microcontroller board yang murah dan mudah digunakan, Arduino UNO R3 dapat dibuat menjadi basis sebuah sistem ukur otomatis yang dapat menjalankan pengukuran simultan. Penelitian kali ini mengembangkan sistem ukur simultan dan otomatis untuk mengukur permitivitas crude oil menggunakan beragam variasi bahan dan konfigurasi IDCS (Interdigital Capacitance Sensor). Penelitian menggunakan 9 buah IDCS dengan tiga konfigurasi berbeda A, B, dan C yang masing-masing dibuat dalam tiga jenis bahan elektroda yakni Mo, Cu, dan PCB. Pengukuran permitivitas dilakukan simultan menggunakan tiga sensor terhadap tiga jenis sample crude oil berbeda pada suhu ruang berkisar 26 – 27 derajat Celcius. Hasil pengukuran sistem selanjutnya dibandingkan dengan hasil pengukuran RCL meter yang digunakan sebagai data referensi untuk menentukan sejauh mana error pengukuran terjadi. Dari hasil yang didapatkan, diketahui bahwa alat ukur permitivitas berbasis Arduino UNO R3 ini telah memiliki linearitas yang cukup baik, serta dapat dikalibrasi menggunakan nilai stray capacitance. Diketahui pula jenis bahan dan konfigurasi terbaik yang menghasilkan nilai error pengukuran paling kecil yakni desain konfigurasi C dan bahan Cu.

As one of the cheapest and easisest microcontroller board to learn available on the market, Arduino had a great potential to be used as a basis for automatic and simultaneous sensor measurement. Using Arduino UNO R3 board, this research is intended to design and study an automatic measuring system able to measure, log, and calculate crude oil permittivity by using more than one IDCS (Interdigital Capacitor Sensor) at a time. The IDC sensor used in this research are varied by both it’s configuration, and electrode material. The configurations used are A, B, C and every one of them made available in 3 different materials, Cu, Mo, and PCB. The measurement are taking place in a room temperature (26-27OC) and are used to measure three different crude oil sample. The result shows that Arduino UNO R3 has the linearity required to create a good measurement and is able to be calibrated using its own internal stray capacitance value. This findings led the research into determining that configuration C and electrode material Cu are the best to be used by the system because of its stability and low error rate of just 1.8% on average, compared to data taken by conventional RCL meter, of which is used as a reference value.
