Abstract

=================================================================
Seawall is one of the coastal constructions which position is equal with the coastal line. Seawall functions as a protector for the rear area from high runoff wave. Seawall does not function to hamper wave energy as the other coastal constructions do, it reflects back the wave into the sea. In this research, an analysis on the stability of the protector layer unit of seawall using concrete type BPPT-Lock. The test was done using the scale model 1:25 with four wave variations (H), two wave periods (T), and three surface depth variations. Parameters used in this research were relative depth (D/Hs), stability number (Hs/ΔDn), wave height (Hs), and number of damaged units. There are three surface depths, they are 0,50 m, 0,45 m, and 0,40 m the most stable being 0,40 m with no casualties on the model.
The increase in wave height (Hs) resulted by variation of surface elevation will cause low stability number (Hs/ΔDn), which will influence the BPPT-Lock armor rock on the seawall. The result of this research also show that the magnitude of wave height (Hs) will influence the damage scope experienced by BPPT-Lock armor rock. The test on depth d = 0.45 m and wave height Hs = 0.13 m, resuled in the number of damaged units obtained which is 1 rock unit, while on other test, number of damaged units obtained are 3 rock unit on the wave height of Hs = 0.17 m.
