Abstract

Dunia memiliki permasalahan yang sama dalam hal mengurangi gas emisi. Dari permasalahan tersebut, telah banyak ditemukan teknologi untuk mengurangi gas emisi, diantara adalah EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). EGR dapat mereduksi NOx dengan mensirkulasikan kembali sebagian dari gas buang ke dalam ruang bakar. Sistem EGR saat ini sering disebut dengan istilah hot EGR dimana proses sirkulasi gas buang tanpa sistem pendinginan. Setelah sistem EGR dirancang dengan penambahan cooling system dengan jenis cold EGR spiral tube maka gas buang yang digunakan kembali akan didinginkan terlebih dahulu. sehingga massa dari udara yang kembali ke ruang bakar akan meningkat. Penilitian ini bertujuan untuk studi analisis terhadap performa motor dan penurunan kandungan NOx pada sistem EGR setelah ditambahkan sistem cold EGR spiral tube berpendingin udara. Eksperimen ini dilakukan pada motor diesel Yanmar TF 85-MHDI. Dari segi performa cold EGR spiral tube nilai SFOC mampu diperbaiki pada kondisi bukaan katup 10% dengan penurunan sebesar 2,3%. untuk hasil uji kandungan emisi NOx pada bukaan katup 10% cold EGR spiral tube pada motor mampu berkurang hingga 4,4 g/kWh atau sebesar 61,4% dan masuk pada spesifikasi TIER 2. ========================================================= The world has the same problem to reduce emissions. Based the problem, many technologies invented to reduce the Emission. One of them is EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation). EGR is the most simple NOx reduction by circulating potion of exhaust gas return into the combustion chamber. EGR system is often known by the name the hot EGR where exhaust gas circulation process without cooling system. This new Hot EGR system is designed by the addition of cooling system with air-cooled type. So that the circulating of exhaust gas to be cooled in advance in such that the mass of air increases. This research aims to study the performance and a reduction in NOX of diesel engine with EGR using addition of cold EGR spiral tube. The experiments were used on diesel engine Yanmar TF 85-MHDI. The result show for the performance of the SFOC able to be fixed at 10% cold EGR spiral tube conditions EGR with a decrease of 2.3% and the results Nox on 10% cold EGR spiral tube system is able to be in threshold in the TIER 2 decrease in 4,4 g/kWh.
