Abstract

Permasalahan di Indonesia yang dialami pada akhir – akhir ini adalah krisis energi. Sehingga diperlukan suatu energi bahan bakar alternatif yang dapat menggantikan bahan bakar fosil, seperti contohnya biodiesel Lard oil. Dengan biodiesel Lard Oil, dilakukan penelitian mencari properties, perbandingan uji performansi biodiesel Lard Oil dengan bahan bakar Biosolar milik PT. PERTAMINA serta pengaruh Biodiesel terhadap proses pembakaran mesin diesel. Metode yang digunakan penulis dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Properties biodiesel Lard Oil sebagian besar memenuhi syarat dari standar biodiesel nasional yang telah ditetapkan. Uji performansi dan proses pembakaran motor diesel dilakukan dengan menggunakan bahan bakar Biosolar, minyak MDO, dan campuran biodiesel B20 (Lard Oil) dengan MDO dan B20 (Lard Oil) dengan Pertamina DEX. Dari proses penelitian antara uji properties, proses pembakaran dan uji performansi, ternyata saling berkaitan antara satu sama lain. Biosolar mengalami prestasi kerja yang lebih bagus dibandingkan dengan B20 MDO maupun B20 DEX. Nilai SFOC paling rendah terdapat pada bahan bakar Biosolar dan minyak MDO. Pada proses penelitian ini, hasil dari performa mesin diesel menggunakan Biodiesel (Lard Oil) lebih jelek dari pada Biosolar. =================================================================== Nowadays, Indonesia is facing the crysis in energy sector. There should be a new renewable energy to substitute fossil fuel such as Lard Oil biodiesel. With Lard Oil biodiesel, the research is to test the properties of the biodiesel, comparison of performance test Lard Oil biodiesel with Biosolar fuel from PT. PERTAMINA and its effect of Biodiesel on diesel engine combustion process by using experimental methods. The Lard Oil's biodiesel properties mostly fulfilled the requirements of the established national biodiesel standards. The performance test and the combustion process of diesel engine were done by using Biosolar fuel, MDO oil, and B20 (Lard Oil) biodiesel mixed with MDO oil and B20 (Lard Oil) with Pertamina DEX. From the research process, between propertiest test, burning process and performance test, were related to each other. Biosolar can could reach better performance than with B20 MDO and B20 DEX. The lowest SFOC values were found in biodiesel fuel and MDO oil. In this experiment, the result of diesel engine performance using Biodiesel (Lard Oil) is more bad than Biosolar.
