Abstract

Pencemaran dilaut akhir-akhir ini semakin meningkat seiring semakin banyaknya kapal-kapal yang dibuat untuk berbagai keperluan. Salah satu limbah yang berada dikapal adalah limbah yang berasal sistem Oily Water Separator. Dimana terdapat kandungan minyak didalam air yang sangat berbahaya jika tidak diolah terlebih dahulu. Tujuan dari penulisan skripsi ini adalah melakukan desain sistem oily water separator (OWS) berbasis distilasi untuk mengurangi kadar minyak didalam air. Eksperimen yang dilakukan ialah dengan proses distilasi dengan daya heater yang digunakan adalah 500 watt, 1000 watt, dan 1500 watt selama 60 menit. Pengujian kadar minyak dalam masing-masing variasi daya diamati untuk mengetahui kinerja dari alat yang telah dibuat. Hasil pengujian didapat bahwa terjadi penurunan pada masing-masing daya ialah sebesar 30.770 ppm pada daya 500 watt, 2.390 ppm pada daya 1.000 watt, 1.640 ppm pada daya 1.500 watt dengan kandungan minyak dalam air pada sludge sebesar 335.920 ppm.

Sea Pollution is increase recently because a lot of ships are build for some purpose. One of the pollutan from ship is coming from oily water separator. Where there’s a lot of oil content in water that very dangerous if it not filtered earlier. The purpose of this thesis is make a design of “destilated – based” oily water separator system ( OWS) the experiment step is do the destilation proccess with variations of heater power are 500 watt, 1000 watt, and 1500 watt with duration 60 minutes. Result from oil content test from each variation of heat power are observed to know how the performance from the system. The result from this experiment show the decreased of oil content from each variaton with 30.770 ppm at 500 watt of heat power, 2.390 ppm at 1000 watt of heat power, and 1.640 ppm at 1500 watt of heat power, where the oil content in water at sludge is 335.920 ppm.
