Abstract
Sangat umum penggunaan coating pada dunia industri untuk melindungi besi dan baja agar terhindar dari korosi. Material coating yang umum digunakan adalah zat-zat kimiawi. Oleh karena itu, banyak penelitian tentang pengembangan material coating dari bahan alami. Penelitian tentang polimer alam dengan silika sebagai pengganti material coating telah dilakukan. Pada penelitian ini, polimer alam yang digunakan adalah getah karet (Hevea brasiliensis). Pada penelitian ini, larutan coating yang digunakan dibuat dari campuran getah karet dengan silika (SiO2) dengan perbandingan 2:1. Metode pelapisan yang digunakan adalah dip coating. Pada proses pelapisan digunakan beberapa variasi dari suhu larutan coating 25oC, 50oC, dan 75oC. Selain itu, digunakan variasi frekuensi pencelupan yaitu 5 kali, 10 kali, dan 15 kali yang dilakukan pada baja karbon rendah ASTM A36. Pemberian perlakuan panas sebesar 100oC dengan metode thermal cycle sebanyak 5 cycle, dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari perlakuan panas terhadap gaya adhesi lapisan coating. Dengan variasi dan perlakuan diatas, didapatkan hasil gaya adhesi terbaik setelah pull-off test oleh spesimen yang diberi perlakuan panas dengan tebal 0.5-1.0 mm diatas tebal rata-rata pada suhu larutan 50oC. Terdapat tiga spesimen yang memiliki hasil diatas standar industri yaitu, spesimen F dengan daya lekat 5.13 MPa, spesimen G dengan daya lekat 4.60 MPa, dan spesimen J dengan daya lekat 4.29 MPa.

corrosion. Coating
materials that commonly used are made from chemical substances. Therefore, a lot of
research about the development of making coating materials from natural ingredients.
Research on natural polymers with silica as a substitute material coating has been carried out.
In this study, the natural polymer which is used is the latex of natural ru
bber (Hevea
brasiliensis). In this study, the coating solution used is made from a mixture of latex solution
with a silica (SiO2) in comparative 2:1. Coating method used is dip coating. On the coating
process used some variation of the temperature of the c
oatingsolution, 25

C, 50
o
C and 75
o
C.
In addition, the frequency variation of immersion that is used 5 times, 10 times, 15 times and
done on low carbon steel ASTM A36. Heat treatment temperature in used 100

C using 5
