Abstract
Dalam masa operasi kapal akan mengalami permasalahan yang kompleks karena faktor lingkungan air laut yang korosif sehingga menyebabkan penurunan kekuatan dan umur pakai kapal akibat terjadinya korosi. Untuk menghindari kerugian akibat korosi air laut diperlukan perlindungan korosi pada pelat kapal. Dalam tugas akhir ini dilakukaan analisis perbandingan dua jenis anoda korban yaitu paduan alumunium WT S-4 Al dan paduan seng WT S-4 Zn untuk melindungi korosi pada kapal. Dari hasil pegujian laju korosi di laboraturium diketahui bahwa laju korosi anoda korban: paduan alumunium sebesar 3,0648 mm/tahun sedangkan paduan seng sebesar 2,5432 mm/tahun. Hasil perhitungan kebutuhan anoda korban dengan panjang kapal 74,30 m dibutuhkan anoda korban: paduan alumunium sebanyak 30 buah dengan berat 120 kg sedangakan paduan seng sebanyak 77 buah dengan berat 308 kg. Dari hasil perhitungan kebutuhan anoda korban dapat ditentukan lokasi peletakan anoda korban sesuai dengan kebutuhan proteksinya. Perhitungan ekonomis penggunaan anoda korban paduan meliputi biaya pembelian anoda, biaya instalasi anoda, dan biaya perawatan sehingga biaya total penggunaan anoda korban paduan: alumunium sebesar Rp 59.902.300,00 untuk umur proteksi 1,2 tahun, sedangkan paduan seng Rp 81.919.300,00 untuk umur proteksi 1,6 tahun. Dari pengujian laju korosi dan perhitungan ekonomis penggunaan anoda korban paduan seng lebih baik dibandingkan paduan alumunium untuk melindungi korosi pada kapal.

During the operation, the ship will experience complex problems due to
the corrosive sea water environment which is causing the degradation in strength
and life time of the ship. To avoid losses due to corrosion of sea water, corrosion
protection is required on the ship plate. This final project analyzed the
comparative of two types of sacrificial anode alloys such as aluminum alloy WT
S-4 Al and zinc alloy WT S-4 Zn to protect the corrosion on the ship. The result
of corrosion rate testing in the laboratory was known that the sacrificial anode
corrosion rate is aluminum alloys is 3.0648 mm / year while the zinc alloy is
2.5432 mm / year. The calculation result of the sacrificial anode’ need for 74.30 m
length of the ship required the sacrificial anode of aluminum alloy 30 pieces and
120 kg while zinc alloy 77 pieces and 308 kg. Those results determined the setting
location of the sacrificial anode according to the protection requirement. The
economic calculation of the use of alloy sacrificial anode included the cost of
anode purchase, the cost of anode installation, and the cost of maintenance.
Therefore, the total cost of anode was aluminum alloy is Rp 59.902.300, 00 while
zinc alloy is Rp 81.919.300,00. It can be concluded from the corrosion rate testing
and economic calculation that the use of sacrificial anode zinc alloy is better than
aluminum alloy to protect corrosion on a ship.
