Abstract

Pipa yang diletakkan pada seabed akan menyebabkan pola aliran disekitarnya berubah. Berubahnya pola aliran dapat menyebabkan pergeseran sedimen disekitar pipa bawah laut dimana fenomena tersebut dikenal sebagai scouring. Proses scouring mengakibatkan bagian bawah pipa kehilangan daya dukung tanah dan mempengaruhi stabilitas pipa. Scouring yang terjadi pada pipa bawah laut dapat diamati secara dua dimensi maupun tiga dimensi. Proses awal mula scouring terjadi pada bagian tengah pipa yang biasanya didekati secara dua dimensi sampai didapatkan kedalaman maupun lebar scouring dan kemudian persebaran scouring terjadi disepanjang pipa yang nantinya akan membentuk free span. Pada tahap dimana free span terbentuk akibat scouring maka dapat menyebabkan pipa mengalami defleksi ke dalam lubang scouring yang dapat memicu kegagalan pipa itu sendiri. Dalam penelitian tugas akhir ini akan dilihat bagaimana pengaruh gelombang dan arus terhadap scouring maupun variasi embedment e maupun diameter pipa terhadap propagasi scouring hingga terbentuknya free span. Parameter yang ingin didapatkan dari penelitian tugas akhir ini adalah kedalaman scouring, lebar scouring, kecepatan propagasi sepanjang pipa, waktu yang dibutuhkan hingga terbentuknya free span dan hubungannya dengan kedalaman scouring. ================================================================= Pipes placed on the seabed will change the neighboor of flow patterns. Changing the flow pattern can cause sediment move away from vicinity of the bottom of pipeline or commonly known as scouring. The scouring process causes the bottom of the pipe to lose the carrying capacity of the soil and affect the stability of the pipe. Scouring that occurs on the submarine pipeline can be observed in two dimensions or three dimensions. The initial process of scouring occurs at the center of the pipe which is usually approached in two dimensions until the depth or width of scouring is obtained and then the scouring spread occurs along the pipe which will form free span. At the stage where free span is formed due to scouring it can cause the pipe to become deflection into the scouring hole which can trigger the failure of the pipe itself. In this final project will be seen how the influence of wave and current to scouring and variation of embedment e and pipe diameter to propagation scouring until free span formation. Parameters to be obtained from this thesis research is the depth of scouring, wide scouring, propagation speed along the pipe, the time required until the formation of free span and its relation to the depth of scouring.
