Abstract

Sintesis komposit PANi-gelSiO2 dengan pengisi gel SiO2 telah dilakukan dengan metode polimerisasi in situ. Gel SiO2 disintesis dari pasir alam Bancar, Tuban. Pemurnian Silika dilakukan dengan metode kopresipitas. Gel SiO2, PANi, dan Komposit PANi-SiO2 dicampur dengan cat dan dilapiskan pada permukaan baja SS304 dengan perbandingan cat 5 ml, thinner 15 ml, dan bahan pengisi sebanyak 0,5 gram. Karakterisasi perilaku korosi diuji dengan metode polarisasi, sedangkan produk korosi diidentifikasi menggunakan XRD. Berdasarkan hasil uji polarisasi diketahui bahwa laju korosi masing masing sampel baja: tanpa pelapis, dilapisi cat, dilapisi cat + gel-SiO2 , dilapisi cat + PANi, dilapisi Cat + Komposit PANi/gelSiO2 sebesar 2,3623 x 10-2 mpy, 1,3022 x 10-5 mpy, 2,3148 x 10-3 mpy, 6,4906 x 10-7 mpy, 1,3871 x 10-3 mpy secara berurutan. Produk korosi yang teridentifikasi pada sampel baja terlapisi cat adalah Fe(OH)2. Pada sampel lainnya tidak terdeteksi produk korosi, tetapi ada lubang pada permukaan sampel yang teridentifikasi unsur Fe.

Synthesis of composite PANi-SiO2 with Gel SiO2 as a filler has done by using in-situ polymerization method. Gel SiO2 synthesized from natural sand of Bancar, Tuban. Silica purification was conducted using coprecipitation method. The Gel SiO2, PANi, and Composite PANI/gel-SiO2 were mixed with the paint and were coated on the surface of steel with a ratio 5 ml of paint, 15 ml of thinner, and 0.5 grams filler. The corrosion testing was conducted using polarization method, whereas the product of corrosion was identified using XRD. Based on the experiment, it is known that the corrosion rate for each samples: uncoated, paint coated, paint + Gel SiO2 coated, paint + PANi coated, paint + PANi/gel SiO2 are 2.3623 x 10-2 mpy, 1.3022 x 10-5 mpy, 2.3148 x 10-3 mpy, 6.4906 x 10-7 mpy, 1.3871 x 10-3 mpy recpectively. The corrosion product of the paint-coated steel is Fe (OH)2. The other samples were not detected a corrosn product, however the holes were observed on the surface that identified as a Fe element.
