Abstract

Telah dilakukan studi eksperimental aliran fluida melewati silinder tanpa dan dengan variasi permukaan. Silinder yang digunakan terdiri dari 3 macam silinder. Silinder memiliki ukuran dimensi yaitu diameter 6 cm dan panjang silinder 26 cm. Kecepatan fluida yang melewati silinder bervariasi yaitu 2 m/s, 4 m/s, 6 m/s, 8 m/s atau Reynolds Number beturut turut 7547, 15094, 22641, 30188. Koefisien drag (Cd) rata pada kecepatan fluida 2 m/s sampai 8 m/s atau Reynolds Number 7547 sampai 30188 untuk silinder tanpa variasi permukaan adalah 1,34799, sedangkan untuk silinder variasi permukaan 1 adalah 1,477525711 dan untuk silinder variasi permukaan 2 adalah 1,507261707. Penambahan variasi permukaan pada silinder memperbesar koefisien drag dimana perbedaan koefisien drag terbesar antara silinder tanpa variasi permukaan dengan silinder variasi permukaan 1 adalah 0,181360221 atau sebesar 13,58% yaitu saat kecepatan fluida 6 m/s atau Reynolds Number 22641. Sedangkan perbedaan koefisien drag paling besar silinder tanpa variasi permukaan dan silinder variasi permukaan 2 adalah 0,191841588 atau sebesar 14,6% yaitu saat kecepatan fluida 4 m/s atau Re 15094. Sedangkan perbedaan koefisien drag paling besar untuk silinder variasi permukaan 1 dan 2 adalah 0,084791751 atau sebesar 5,88% yaitu saat kecepatan fluida 2 m/s atau Reynolds Number 7547. ====================================================================== Experimental study about fluid flow past circular cylinder without surface modification and with surface modification had been done. Three kinds of cylinders were used in experimental study. Diameter and span of cylinders were 6 cm and 26 cm rsepectively.In this study experimental, 4 variation of fluids velocity were used. There were 2 m/s, 4 m/s, 6 m/s and 8 m/s or ranged from 7547 until 30188 on Reynolds Number. Mean drag coefficient smooth cylinder was 1,34799 (7547 Re 30188). Mean drag coefficient first surface modification cylinder was 1,477525711 (7547 Re 30188). Cylinder with surface modification has bigger drag coefficient than cylinder without surface modification. Mean drag coefficient second surface modification cylinder was 1,477525711 (7547 Re 30188) 1,507261707. The biggest difference drag coefficient between smooth cylinder and first surface modification was 0,181360221 or 13,58% when fluids velocity 6 m/s or Reynolds Number 22641. The biggest difference drag coefficient between smooth cylinder and second surface modification was 0,191841588 or 14,6% when fluids velocity 4 m/s or Reynolds Number 15094. The biggest difference drag coefficient between first and second surface modification was 0,084791751 or 5,88% when fluids velocity 2 m/s or Reynolds Number 7547.
