Abstract

=========================================================
A landslide on the Ponorogo-Trenggalek KM 23 highway is likely caused by the presence of the cracks that filled by the fluid. It is proven by the presence of some small cracks on the houses around the landslide area. Therefore, it is necessary to map the fluid distribution in the subsurface using the Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic (VLF-EM) method. The result of the VLF-EM data can be interpreted using Fraser and Karous-Hjelt filters (qualitaitve) and also inversion method (quantitative). Qualitative analysis is used to identify the anomaly location. Otherwise, the inversion process is used to determine 2D resistivity. The inversion result is to produce 3D Resistivity model. Based on the result, there are a few anomalies with low resistivity value ± 8 ohm-metres, which is correlated with the cracks in the area. This low resistivity value caused by the rocks which contained by fluid. thus the low resistivity indicates that the potential occurrence of landslides.
