Abstract

Pabrik ini menggunakan bahan baku Aluminium Hidroksida 94,715% dan Asam Sulfat 98% dengan proses Giulini. Produk berupa Aluminium sulfat dengan kandungan Al2O3 17,14% dan insoluble material sebesar 0,01%. Produk ini digunakan sebagai reagen flokulan untuk penjernihan air. Karakteristik produk ini bersifat korosif dan beracun. Pada tahap Pre-treatment, asam sulfat 98% dari tangki penyimpanan diencerkan menjadi 66% dengan menggunakan air proses. Pada tahap main-treatment, aluminium hidroksida ditransportasikan denga bucket elevator menuju reaktor untuk direaksikan dengan asam sulfat 66% pada konversi 80%, temperature 1700C, dan tekanan 5 bar untuk menghasilkan 36.934% larutan aluminium sulfat. Aluminium sulfat dipekatkan pada evaporator untuk mencapai kosenstrasi 57%. Almunium sulfat 57% ini kemudian dikristalisasi menggunakan crystallizer dengan penambahan 1% bibit Aluminium Sulfat. Kristal aluminium sulfat yang terbentuk kemudian dicuci dengan air proses. Kristal aluminium sufat murni kemudian dikeringkan menggunakan rotary dryer untuk menurunkan kadar air menjadi 0,1%. Pada tahap post treatment kristal aluminium sulfat yang telah dihaluskan didinginkan pada rotary cooler dari temperatur 650C menjadi 400C. Setalah itu, kristal aluminium sulfat dihaluskan menggunakan prebreaker dan diayak menggunakan screen sehingga menghasilkan aluminium sulfat dengan ukuran 12 mesh. Pabrik aluminium sulfat terletak di Java Integrated Industrial Post Estate Gresik, Jawa Timur memiliki kapasitas sebesar 40.000 ton/tahun dan membutuhkan bahan baku Aluminium Hidroksida 11071.326 ton/tahun dan Asam Sulfat sebesar 20165.781 ton/tahun. ====================================================================== The plant produces the a luminium sulfate containing 17.14% of Al 2 O 3 made of the aluminum hydroxide 94.715% and the sulfuric acid 98% by the Giulini process . Aluminum sulfate produced in this way contains only 0.01% insoluble material. This product is an important flocculating agent for purifying water . The characteristic of this product are corrosive and toxic. In t he p re - treatment , 98% of s ulfuric a cid from the storage t ank is d iluted by adding water process to be 66%. In the main - treatment , a luminum h ydroxide is tr ansported using the bucket elevator to the reactor for reacting the 66% of s ulfuric a cid at a conversion of 80%, the temperature of 170 ̊C and 5 bar to produce 36.934% of a luminum sulfate solution . The a luminum sulfate is evaporated to be 57% and then is crystalized by added 1 % of a luminum s ulfate seeds. Aluminum s ulfate c rystal s are washed by w ater process to remove acidity , and then are dried by a rotary dryer to reduce the moisture content to be 0.1%. In the post - treatment, The a luminum s ulfate crystal s are cooled from 65 0 C to 40 0 C in the rotary cooler. Finally, the crystals are screened to get the quality of product of 12 mesh in size . The plant located in Java Integrated Industrial Port Estate Gresik , East Java has a capacity of 40,000 tons / year and requires raw materials of Aluminum Hydroxide 11071.32 6 ton/year and Sulfuric Acid of 20165.78 1 ton/year .
