Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan dalam pengelasan suatu material logam yaitu apabila sebuah logam hasil pengelasan SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) menggunakan spesimen benda kerja yang memiliki kotoran atau material non-metal.
Pada penelitian ini akan menganalisa mengenai pengaruh perbedaan variasi lapisan pengotoran pada permukaan spesimen (tanpa lapisan, oli, air dan stempet) sebelum dilakukan pengelasan SMAW terhadap material ST37 menggunakan E 6013 dengan pengujian radiografi (ASME Sect. V) yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui cacat yang terjadi pada hasil lasan pada material yang telah diberi kampuh 60º, dan uji metalografi (makro etsa) yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui lebar HAZ pada daerah batasan HAZ (Heat Affected Zone) dan Weld Metal.
Dari hasil yang didapat pada pengujian radiografi, didapatkan bahwa spesimen tanpa lapisan memiliki cacat (external undercut), spesimen dengan lapisan oli (elongated slug inclusion dan exetrnal concavity), spesimen dengan lapisan air (external undercut) dan spesimen dengan lapisan stempet (slug inclusion dan external undercut). Sedangkan pada pengujian metalografi, didapatkan bahwa lebar HAZ pada material tanpa lapisan lebih besar dibanding dengan material dengan lapisan air, oli dan stempet.

One of the problems in welding a metal material that is in a metal weld SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) using a specimen of the workpiece that has dirt or other non-metal materials.
In the current study will analyze about the influence of the difference of doping on the surface layer variations of specimens (without layers, oil,water anda stem and stempet) prior to welding SMAW against material using E 6013 ST37 with testing radiography(ASME Sect. V) which aims to discover defects that occur on the results of welds on material that has been given a seam-60 º, and test metalografi (macro-etching) that aims to find out the HAZ in the area limitation HAZ (Heat Affected Zone) and Weld Metal.
From the results obtained in tests, radiography is obtained that the specimen without layers have a disability (external undercut), specimens with a layer of oil (elongated slug exetrnal concavity and inclusion), specimens with a layer of water (external undercut) and the specimen with a layer of stempet (slug inclusions and external undercut). While in metalografi, obtained by testing that the width of the HAZ in materials without a layer is larger than the material with a layer of water, fuel oil and lubricating grease.
