Abstract

Gerbong kereta api sebagai salah satu jenis muatan heavy lift cargo, memiliki penanganan yang berbeda bila dibandingkan dengan jenis muatan lain. Dimensi gerbong menjadi salah satu faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap proses tersebut. Sering kali moda angkutan laut yang dipakai tidak terisi secara maksimal. Selain itu, perencanaan waktu pengiriman perlu direncanakan secara efektif sehingga dapat memenuhi jadwal yang telah ditetapkan. Untuk itu, Tugas Akhir ini bertujuan untuk merancang model pengangkutan ekspor gerbong kereta api yang meminimumkan biaya dan waktu pengiriman dengan membandingkan multi-moda transportasi yang tersedia. Moda transportasi darat yang terpilih adalah multi-axle trailer dengan unit cost Rp 27,773,580/gerbong. Sedangkan moda transportasi laut yang terpilih adalah kapal general cargo ukuran 27,926 DWT dengan unit cost Rp 194,455,591/gerbong. Secara keseluruhan, gabungan kedua moda transportasi yang terpilih menghasilkan unit cost Rp 222,229,171/gerbong dengan total waktu 142 hari.

Railway carriage as one type of heavy lift cargo, has different handling method compared with others. The dimension of the carriage is the most important factor that affects the handling process substantially. Mostly the capacity of the vessel selected is not fully occupied. In addition, shipment time has to be planned effectively so it can meet the predetermined schedule. This Final Project aims to design a model of exporting railway carriage which minimizes cost and delivery times by comparing the available multi-modal transportation. The most appropiate land transportation mode is multi-axle trailer that provides unit cost of Rp 27,773,580/carriage, while the selected sea transportation mode is a 27,926 DWT general cargo vessel with unit cost of Rp 194,455,591/carriage. Overall, the two selected modes results in a unit cost of Rp 222,229,171/carriage with total time of 142 days.
