Abstract

================================================================================================= The problem of the population in various cities is very complex. One of them is the lack of public awareness in maintaining environmental quality, specifically in this case is water. The attitude of the community is not in line with the government program that wants the waterfront concept. Therefore, a literature study approach of the design criteria for the waterfront area is done by using an environmental point of view, leading to a discussion of architecture, using responsive environment methods discussed in three parts, namely permeability, variety, and visual appropriateness. The design site is located in Cisadane river area in Bogor city because Cisadane River is the source of water in Bogor city which also become the upstream for the importance of maintaining the quality of river water downstream. Site selection is based on the general criteria of waterfront arrangement and design according to Prabudiantoro (1997). By analyzing the contextuality of the location and the initial concept idea about the potential of the building in the waterfront area, the utilization/activity in the site can be obtained, namely the educational object and a series of water games that provide information in a fun way so that it can be enjoyed by all ages with the aim that the information provided can be understood and applied. In conclusion, the architectural design of the land is a representation of the idea to be implanted on the application of the building which also sees the structure of the environment and architecture as well as the needs of the activity on the location that must be fulfilled.
