Abstract
Pertumbuhan sektor transportasi di Indonesia sangat tinggi sehingga padatnya kendaraan yang berada dijalan raya. Dengan jumlah kendaraan yang semakin bertambah, fasilitas jalan saat initidak dapat mengimbangi sehingga terjadinya permasalahan-permasalahan lalu lintas. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan cara pengawasan lalu lintas. Penelitian tentang pengawasan lalu lintas dijalan raya telah dilakukan oleh beberapa peneliti yang dilakukan pada pagi dan sore hari yang memiliki pencahayaan yang cukup. Akan tetapi malam hari merupakan kondisi dimana banyaknya terjadi permasalahan lalu lintas dijalan raya dikarenakan intensitas cahaya yang kurang. Maka dari itu dibutuhkannya informasi kendaraan yang melintasi jalan raya pada waktu malam hari yang mampu mendeteksi dan menghitung jumlah kendaraan yang lewat di jalan raya. Pendeteksian dilakukan dengan menggunakan lampu kendaraan sebagai objek pendeteksian. Kemudian dengan terdeteksinya lampu kendaraan dapat dilakukannya perhitungan.Sehingga didapatkan hasil perhitungan kendaraan yang melewati jalan raya pada waktu malam hari.

The transportation sector's growth in Indonesia is very high so that the density of vehicles that are in the road. With the increasing number of vehicles, road facilities currently can not be offset so that the occurrence of traffic problems. One way to overcome these problems by means of traffic control. Research on traffic control highway has done by some researchers. Research on road traffic monitoring has been conducted by several researchersc conducted in the morning and noon that has sufficient lighting. But the evening is a condition in which the number of traffic problems occurred on the highway due to the intensity of the light is less. Therefore the required information of vehicles that cross the highway at night that is able to detect and calculate the number of vehicles passing on the highway. Detection is done by using vehicle lights as the object of detection. Then with the detection of vehicle lights can do the calculation. So get the result of vehicle counting passing the highway at night.
