Abstract

In manufacturing companies, machine is one of the main components in production activities. Therefore, it is important to maintain the reliability of the machine. The first process for MSG production in PT Ajinomoto Indonesia is separating dregs into form slurry and gypsum (H1 process). The process using 11 SDC separator machines. Nine separator machines are used to separate slurry (initial dreg). Then, the slurry is reprocessed until gypsum is obtained by using two separator machines. Focus of this study is two SDC separator gypsum machines. In that process the SDC separator machines were a machine that often fails so cost for repair was expensive. Power Law Process method with Non-Homogeneous Poisson Process is the method of analysis in repairable system that the rate of failure is increasing. This study resulted that optimum replacement SDC separator machine is based on minimum cost Rp 361993,66 at first damage or when the SDC separator machines had been operating for 223 days. Thus, the maintenance can be done based on the time of optimum replacement or when the machines are failure before that time. It depends on what happens first so that other losses can be prevented.
