Abstract
Pendidikan merupakan kebutuhan manusia untuk menjalankan kehidupan sehari-hari. Lulusan SMA di Indonesia, sebagian besar melanjutkan pendidikan ke Perguruan Tinggi. Jalur penerimaan mahasiswa baru pada PTN dibagi menjadi tiga jalur SNMPTN, SBMPTN, dan mandiri. Pada tahun 2015, jumlah pendaftar tes tulis mencapai 852.093 padahal daya tampung yang disediakan hanya 99.223 kursi. Hal demikian justru memacu Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) untuk memiliki kriteria masing-masing dalam hal seleksi penerimaan mahasiswa baru guna mendapatkan calon mahasiswa baru yang memang pantas dan berkualitas untuk menghasilkan indeks prestasi yang memuaskan selama masa perkuliahan di ITS. Tahun pertama merupakan tahap persiapan sehingga terdapat indeks prestasi persiapan (IPP) yang dapat digunakan untuk menentukan beban studi maksimal (SKS) semester selanjutnya yang terbagi menjadi lima kategori sesuai dengan peraturan akademik ITS tahun 2014 adalah 16 SKS, 18 SKS, 20 SKS, 22 SKS, dan 24 SKS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel yang berpengaruh terhadap IPP adalah jenis kelamin, jalur masuk, skor TOEFL, skor TPA, bidikmisi, dan fakultas dengan ketepatan klasifikasi sebesar 50,14% menggunakan regresi logistik ordinal.

Education is a human need for running daily life. Mostly, high school graduates in Indonesia continue their education to universities. The new admissions path for undergraduate programs at State Universities is divided into three lines SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and independent. In 2015, the number of applicants for writing tests reaches 852,093 whereas the only available capacity is 99,223 seats. It thus actually spur State Universities, one of which is Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) to have their own criteria in the selection of new admissions to get a new and qualified student candidate to produce satisfactory achievement index during lecture period in ITS. The first year is the preparatory stage, so there is a preparation performance index (IPP) which is the average GPA semesters one and two. In addition, IPP can also be used to determine the maximum study load (SKS) for the next semester is divided into five categories according to academic regulations ITS in 2014 are 16 SKS, 18 SKS, 20 SKS, 22 SKS, and 24 SKS. Ordinal logistic regression is showed that the factor significantly influence IPP are gender, admission path, TOEFL score, TPA score, bidikmisi, and faculty of undergraduate program ITS student with the classification accuracy about 50,14%.
