Abstract

Bahan bakar hidrokarbon (C8-C12) dari limbah plastik propilena (PP) telah berhasil disintesis melalui metode konversi katalitik dengan menggunakan katalis Al-MCM-41 sebesar 11,18 gram, dilakukan juga keberulangan penggunaan katalis sebanyak tiga kali yaitu dengan kode sampel A, B, dan C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa A, B, dan C masing-masing menghasilkan bahan bakar hidrokarbon (BBH) dengan komposisi fraksi hidrokarbon (C8-C12) sebesar 92,76; 91,92; dan 90,58%. Keberulangan penggunaan katalis menyebabkan adanya penurunan komposisi pada fraksi hidrokarbon (C8-C12) karena kinerja katalis yang menurun dibuktikan dengan nilai TON (Turn Over Number) yang meningkat dari 0,075%/g menjadi 0,156%/g. Berdasarkan uji fisik yang telah dilakukan meliputi uji titik didih, titik nyala, densitas, viskositas, dan nilai kalor, dapat dibuktikan bahwa bahan bakar hidrokarbon A, B dan C memiliki karakteristik yang mendekati standar (bensin premium) ketika dibandingkan dengan SNI 06-3506-1994 dan standar internasional HIBER11Z yang dikeluarkan Hibernia Petroleum Canada tahun 2016. ============================================================================================ The performance of catalytic conversion in synthesis of hidrocarbon fuel (C8-C12) from polypropylene (PP) plastic waste has been investigated and catalyzed by 11,18 gram Al-MCM-41, there was also used continously three times of the catalyst to the sample A, B, and C. The results showed that A, B, and C each produced hidrocarbon fuel (BBH) which had hydrocarbon fraction (C8-C12) of 92,76; 91,92; and 90,58%. Continously of the catalyst showed the compotition of hydrocarbon fueld (C8-C12) and performance of catalyst were decreasing TON (Turn Over Number) increase 0,075%/gram to 0,156%/g.. The resultof this research showed that characteristic of hydrocarbon fuel such as boiling point, flash point, density, viscosity, and heating value approximate to premium gasoline based on its characteristic similarity compared to SNI 06-3506-1994 quality standard about premium gasoline fuel and international standard HIBER11Z of Petroleum Canada 2016.
