Abstract
Museum Majapahit merupakan salah satu museum yang memiliki koleksi benda-benda peninggalan jaman Majapahit terbanyak di Indonesia. Akan tetapi, dalam menyajikan koleksi tersebut museum Majapahit terbilang belum dapat menyampaikan informasi pesan sejarah Majapahit dengan baik. Terdapat banyak kekurangan dalam berbagai hal seperti misalnya adalah kurangnya pembentukan suasana kerajaan Majapahit sebagai pendukung tersampaikannya informasi tersebut. Serta peletakkan papan informasi yang kurang ergonomis dan penggunaan grafis yang tidak konsisten membuat Museum Majapahit belum memiliki ciri khas tersendiri.
Berawal dari hal tersebut, penyelesaian masalah yang dibuat adalah perancangan yang terfokus pada pembentukan suasana museum Majapahit melalui perancangan Environmental Graphic Design. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah riset observasi museum dan depth interview kepada pengunjung dan pengelola museum untuk mencari tahu pesan apa yang ingin disampaikan. Setelah melalui tahap analisis, konsep yang akan disampaikan adalah tentang bagaimana cara menceritakan kembali kisah historis kerajaan Majapahit beserta dengan pembentukan suasana untuk area pameran museum.
Hasil dari perancangan ini berupa Environmental Graphic Design yang diaplikasikan pada bangunan utama Museum Majapahit. Tujuan dari perancangan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengalaman kepada pengunjung melalui konten story telling yang disajikan dan mempermudah penyampaian informasi agar selalu diingat oleh pengunjung serta memiliki dampak yang baik untuk masyarakat.

Majapahit Museum is one of the museums which is having the most collection objects of the Majapahit era in Indonesia. However, in presenting their collection, Majapahit Museum has not been able to convey the information of Majapahit history completely. There are deficiencies in some aspects, such as lack of the establishment of Majapahit ambience as a visual aspect of their information. And the placement of their information board is less ergonomic and the incosistent of their visual graphic usage causes Majapahit Museum didn’t have their identity as well.
Starting from that, the solution for that problem is to create design that focused on the establishment of Majapahit ambience through Environmental Graphic Design. The research method that is used is museum observation research and depth interview to museum visitors and museum managers to find out what message to convey it. After going through the data analysis phase, the concept that would be delivered is how to retelling story about the historical of Majapahit along with the ambience establishment for museum exhibition area.
The result of this project is an Environmental Graphic Design which is applicated to the main building of Majapahit Museum. The purpose of this project is to give a different experience for the visitors through the story telling content and make it easier in delivering the information which is always be remembered by the visitors, and giving the good impact for the society.
