Abstract

Produksi bahan bakar cair hidrokarbon (C8-C13) dari limbah plastik polipropilena hasil konversi katalitik dengan variasi jumlah katalis telah berhasil dilakukan. Katalis yang digunakan adalah material Al-MCM-41 sebesar 3,72%; 4,28%; dan 5,59% (b/v). Jumlah katalis mampu mempengaruhi produk bahan bakar cair yang dihasilkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan bakar cair yang mendekati karakteristik bahan bakar minyak jenis bensin adalah bahan bakar cair dengan variasi katalis 5,59% (b/v) dengan komposisi fraksi bensin (C8-C13) sebesar 87,49%. Pengujian fisik bahan bakar cair kemudian dibandingkan dengan pengujian fisik pada bensin komersil (premium). Hasil pengujian fisik bahan bakar cair variasi katalis 5,59% (b/v) antara lain: densitas 717,90 kg/m3, titik nyala 51°C, titik didih akhir 93°C, viskositas kinematik 0,416 cSt, kalor pembakaran 25.355 kkal/kg, mendekati dengan karakteristik bensin komersil jenis premium. ====================================================================================== The production of hydrocarbons (C8-C13) liquid fuels from polypropylene plastic waste that result from catalytic conversion with variation of catalysts concentration has been done. Al-MCM-41 was used as catalyst for catalytic conversion. The variation of catalyst in this study was 3.72%; 4.28%; and 5.59% (w/v). The amount of catalyst an affect the production of liquid fuel. The result of this research shows that liquid fuel which has same characteristic with gasoline fuel is liquid fuel with catalyst variation 5.59% (w/v) has gasoline fraction (C8-C13) 87.49%. Then, physical properties of liquid fuel compared with physical properties of comercyl gasoline. The result of liquid fuel physical testing with catalyst variation 5.59% (b/v) are 717.90 kg/m3 (density), 51°C (flash point), 93 °C (boilling point), 0.416 cSt (kinematic viscosity), and 25355 kcal/kg (caloric value) has the closest characteristic with premium.
