Abstract
Jenis baja karbon yang sering digunakan dalam industri minyak
dan gas adalah baja API 5L. Permasalahan yang umum terjadi
pada industri migas salah satunya adalah korosi. Upaya untuk
mencegah korosi pada pipa dalam industri migas adalah dengan
menambahkan inhibitor. Daun Asam Jawa dan Kulit Melinjo
merupakan bahan organik yang dapat digunakan sebagai
inhibitor organik. Dalam penelitian ini diaplikasikan pada baja
API 5L Grade B di lingkungan NaCl 3,5% pH 5. Variasi
konsentrasi dari inhibitor daun asam jawa dan kulit melinjo
adalah 0, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 mg/L. Untuk menganalisa
pengaruh penambahan dari kedua inhibitor tersebut maka
dilakukan serangkaian pengujian. Uji spectrometer untuk
mengetahui komposisi kimia baja, uji Uv-Vis untuk mengetahui
total kandungan inhibitor, uji FTIR, uji weight loss, Tafel
polarisasi, dan EIS. Dari hasil uji weight loss diperoleh laju
korosi terendah pada penambahan inhibitor daun asam jawa dan
kulit melinjo masing-masing sebesar 2,58 mpy pada perendaman
14 hari dengan konsentrasi 300 mg/L dan 3,61 mpy pada
perendaman 7 hari dengan konsentrasi 300 mg/L. Efisiensi
inhibisi tertinggi diperoleh ketika penambahan inhibitor daun
asam jawa dan kulit melinjo sebanyak 300 mg/L. Mekanisme
inhibisi inhibitor daun asam jawa dan kulit melinjo cenderung
bersifat fisisorpsi berdasarkan hasil perhitungan adsorpsi
isotherm Langmuir.

Type of carbon steel that often used in the oil and gas industry is
API 5L steel. Problems that are common happens in the oil and
gas industry is corrosion. The efforts are made to prevent
corrosion in oil and gas industry is with the addition of inhibitor.
Tamarindus Indica leaves and Gnetum Gnemun peels is organic
materials which can be used as organic inhibitor. In this research
API 5L grade B steel was applied in 3.5% NaCl pH 5. Various
concentration of Tamarindus Indica leaves and Gnetum Gnemon
peels is 0, 100, 150, 200, 250, and 300 mg/L. To analyze the effect
of the addition from both materials then few tests was set.
Spectrometry test to analyze the chemical composition of steel,
Uv-Vis test to analyze total composition of inhibitor, FTIR test,
weight loss test, tafel polarization, and EIS. The result from
weight loss test was corrosion rate number each addition of
inhibitor are 2,58 mpy for the immerse of 14 days and addition
concentration 300 mg/L and 3,61 mpy for the immerse of 7 days
and addition concentration 300 mg/L. The highest efficiency was
obtained when the addition of 300 mg/L Tamarindus Indica
leaves and Gnetum Gnemon peels. Inhibition mechanism of
Tamarindus Indica leaves and Gnetum Gnemon peels tend to
physisorption reaction based on calculation of adsorption
isotherm Langmuir
