Abstract

AISI 304 rentan terhadap korosi retak tegang di lingkungan yang mengandung klorida dan sulfat. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mempelajari perilaku korosi baja AISI 304 pada media HCl, H2SO4, dan Na2S2O3 dengan sensitisasi dan variasi beban. Kondisi sensitisasi didapatkan dengan memanaskan AISI 304 pada 800oC kemudian diikuti pendinginan lambat. Pembebanan dilakukan dengan metode U-bend dengan beban 0.6 dan 0.8 σy. Didapatkan hasil bahwa sensitisasi pada AISI 304 menyebabkan korosi jenis pitting, korosi seragam tak beraturan dan korosi batas butir pada elektrolit HCl. Kemudian korosi seragam dan korosi batas butir pada elektrolit H2SO4. Tidak terdapat korosi pada elektrolit Na2S2O3. Resiko terjadinya korosi pada HCl dan H2SO4 meningkat dengan meningkatnya pembebanan. Pada elektrolit HCl, ditemukan produk korosi berupa FeCl2 dan Fe3O4. Setelah imersi AISI 304 kondisi sensitisasi menurun kekerasannya di batas butir. Besar diameter rata-rata pit yang terbentuk di permukaan AISI 304 meningkat dengan kondisi sensitisasi ditambah meningkatnya pembebanan. Pada elektrolit H2SO4, AISI 304 kondisi sensitisasi ditemukan produk korosi berupa Fe3O4, Fe2O3 dan FeSO4.4H2O. Setelah imersi AISI 304 kondisi sensitisasi menurun kekerasannya di batas butir. Pada elektrolit Na2S2O3, AISI 304 tidak ditemukan adanya produk korosi dan ditemukan Cr2O3 di permukaan. AISI 304 kondisi sensitisasi meningkat kekerasannya ============================================================AISI 304 is generally susceptible to stress corrosion cracking in environment containing chlorides and sulfates. This study was conducted to study the corrosion behavior of AISI 304 steel on HCl, H2SO4, and Na2S2O3 media with sensitization and load variation. The sensitization conditions were obtained by heating AISI 304 at 800oC and then followed by slow cooling. The loading is done by U-bend method with load of 0.6 and 0.8 σy. The results showed that sensitization in AISI 304 caused pitting corrosion, uniform corrosion and intergranular corrosion in HCl electrolyte. Then sensitization caused uniform corrosion and intergranular corrosion in the H2SO4 electrolyte. Then there is no corrosion on the Na2S2O3 electrolyte. The risk of corrosion on HCl and H2SO4 increases with increasing loading. In the HCl electrolyte, corrosion products of FeCl2 and Fe3O4 were found. After immersion AISI 304 sensitization conditions has decreased hardness at grain boundaries. The average pit diameter formed on the surface of AISI 304 increases with the sensitization conditions and the increase in loading. In the H2SO4 electrolyte, AISI 304 sensitization condition was found to be Fe3O4, Fe2O3 and FeSO4.4H2O as corrosion product. After Immersion AISI 304 sensitization conditions has decreased hardness at grain boundaries. In the Na2S2O3 electrolyte, on AISI 304 Cr2O3 was found on the surface. After immersion AISI 304 sensitization conditions have increased hardness at grain boundaries.
