Abstract
Korosi adalah proses perubahan sifat suatu bahan akibat
pengaruh atau reaksi dengan lingkungan sekitarnya yang
cencerung menurunkan kualitas sifat material. Salah satu cara
pengendaliannya adalah dengan penambahan inhibitor. Inhibitor
organik merupakan inhibitor yang dianggap ramah lingkungan.
Dalam penelitian ini digunakan ekstrak biji jambu sebagai
inhibitor organik, dengan material pengujian yang digunakan
berupa baja API 5L grade B. Untuk media korosifnya H2SO4 1 M
dengan variasi kosentrasi 0-6 ml. Jenis pengujian yang dilakukan
pada penelitian ini adalah EIS, FTIR, dan weight loss.
Hasil pengujian menunjukkan adanya penurunan laju korosi
pada API 5L grade B ketika ditambah inhibitor. Pada uji Polarisasi
Potensiodinamik nilai laju korosi tanpa inhibitor sebesar 75,018
mmpy sedangkan dengan inhibitor 2,8845 mmpy dan efisiensi
inhibisinya sebesar 96,155%. Pada pengujian Weight Loss efisiensi
yang dihasilkan sebesar 90,130%. Pengujian pendukung lainnya
(FTIR) menunjukkan inhibitor bersifat campuran yang dominan
katodik. ============= Corrosion is the process of changing the properties of a material due to the influence or reactions with its surroundings that
tend to lower the quality of the material properties. One way to inhibit corrosion is by adding an inhibitor. Organic inhibitors is an
inhibitor that is considered environmentally friendly.
In this study used guava seeds extract as an inhibitor of
organic material, with testing that is used in the form of steel API
5L grade B. For corrosive solution is used H2SO4 1 M with the
variation of concentrations of 0-6 ml. The type of testing method
that used in this study is EIS, FTIR, and weight loss
The test results showed a decrease in the corrosion rate on
steel API 5L grade B when added inhibitor. Potensiodinamic
Polarization value test on the corrosion rate without added inhibitor
is 75.018 mmpy whereas with inhibitor is 2.8845 mmpy and
inhibition efficiency is 96.155%. The result of Weight Loss test, the
efficiency is 90,130% The other supporting method (FTIR)
indicates the dominant nature of the inhibitor is cathodic.
