Abstract

This research was conducted to evaluate human reliability by measuring
probabilities of human error in mackerel production process of PT. Kelola Mina
Laut in Gresik. Analysis of human reliability was done by using Human Error
Assessment & Reduction Technique (HEART) method. In adition to research about
human reliability, workload analysis is also used to find the value of workload
owned by the operator. The result that obtained from this study shows the largest
value of Human Error Probabilites (HEP) owned by the Counting & Weighting
process (0,281). The result from workload measurement also shows that the
Counting & Weighting process has relatively high workload with the value of
121%. This shows the tendency that the human error rate can be affected by the
value of workload. Based on the value of HEP and workload in the production area,
an improvement recommendation was made for the company to reduce the
occurance of errors in the production process. For example, the recommendation of
improvement given to the Counting & Weighting process is by evaluating the work
methods so the operator can avoid further probabilities of human error.
