Abstract

Terumbu karang buatan (artificial reef) adalah benda-benda atau struktur bangunan yang diletakkan di dasar air dan memiliki karakteristik menyerupai terumbu karang alami. Masalah lain timbul ketika sebuah struktur diletakkan pada lingkungan perairan, keberadaan struktur tersebut akan mengubah pola aliran di sekitarnya, sehingga menyebabkan terjadinya kontraksi aliran; pusaran di depan struktur; turbulensi; refleksi dan difraksi gelombang; gelombang pecah; serta terbawanya material oleh arus.. Penelitian uji model fisik 2 dimensi dilakukan di Laboratorium Lingkungan dan Energi Laut, Jurusan Teknik Kelautan, Fakultas Teknologi Kelautan, ITS Surabaya.Skala model yang digunakan 1:10 dan diuji menggunakan gelombang regular dengan empat variasi tinggi gelombang (Hi), dua periode gelombang (T) serta dua variasi tinggi muka air (h). Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa nilai scouring maksimum (Sm) akan berbanding lurus dengan nilai tinggi gelombang maupun periode gelombang Dari hasil analisa perbandingan pengaruh tinggi gelombang dan periode gelombang, perubahan tinggi gelombang memiliki pengaruh terhadap nilai scouring maksimum lebih besar di bagian depan struktur dari pada di belakang struktur. Hal serupa juga terjadi pada perubahan periode gelombang. ======================================================================================================== Artificial reefs are objects or structures that are placed in the bottom of the water and have characteristics resembling a natural coral reef. Another problem arises when a structure is placed in the aquatic environment, the existence of the structure will change the flow pattern around it, causing a flow contraction; vortex in front of the structure; turbulence; reflection and wave diffraction; wave break; as well as the carrying of materials by currents .. The research model of 2D physical model was conducted in Marine Environment and Energy Laboratory, Marine Engineering Department, Marine Technology Faculty, ITS Surabaya. Model used 1:10 scale and tested using regular wave with four wave height variation (Hi), two wave period (T) and two variations of water level (h). The results show that the maximum scouring value (Sm) have proportional value to the wave height and wave period. From the result of comparative analysis of the wave height and wave period, the change in wave height has greater effect on the maximum scouring value on the front of the structure rather than the back structure. The same characteristics also applied on wave period changes.
