Abstract
PLLA/Plasticizer. Dari penelitian didapatkan hasil bahwa
semakin banyak penambahan plasticizer, tensile strength
dan modulus young semakin rendah tetapi elongation at
break mengalami kenaikan. Nilai optimum pada film
PLLA/Plasticizer dengan elongation at break tertinggi
adalah film PLLA/PEG200 sebesar 2,29% dan PLLA-g-
MA/PEG200 sebesar 2,39%.

Poly(L-Lactic Acid) PLLA has become a “material of
choice” in the biomedical application for its ability to fulfill complex needs that typically include properties such as biocompatibility, mechanical strength and processability but low hydrophobic level and low thermal stability. To modify mechanical and thermal property of PLLA using solvent blending
method with chloroform as a plasticizer. PLLA modification with plasticizer was done decrease Tg and increase elasticity and softness of PLLA. The plasticize
r used in this study were PEG 200, PEG 400 and glycerol. This research was conducted to study the effect of plasticizer content on PLLA properties to obtain the
most appropriate concentration and type of plasticizer to produce the film with better properties, the influence of plasticizer molecule weight on PLLA properties. Investigated and observed the effect of PLLA modification with MA on PLLA properties
and blend of PLLA/plasticizer. The research method was in this research was divided into two stages, t
he first stage is the synthesis of film from PLLA/Plasticizer by using chloroform as the solvent. Heated and stirred the mixture at 60°C and 200 rpm
for 6 hours using the hotplate. The processed of printing films on petry dish and test the characteristics
of mixing results PLLA/Plasticizer. For the second stage is the filming stage of PLLA-g-MA/Plasticizer, first making PLLA-g-MA copolymer with grafting technique. Making of film from PLLA
-g-MA/Plasticizer by using chloroform as the solvent. Heated and stirred the mixture at 60°C and 200 rpm for 6 hours using a hotplate. The process of printing films on petry dish and test the characteristics of mixing results PLLA-g-MA/Plasticizer. The obtained films were characterized using FTIR, DMA, SEM,XRD, and DSC. From the research, FTIR analysis indicated that it was an interaction between PLLA and plasticizer. Based on the results of DSC analysis, the addition of plasticizer reduced the value of Tg and Tm after pristine PLLA, the Tg value of PLLA-g-MA/Plasticizer was relatively lower than that of the PLLA/ Plasticizer without MA modification. Based on the XRD
analysis, the degree of crystallinity increased with the number of plasticizers added, the highest crystallinity was 42,544% the PLLA/PEG200 film and 45,66% for t
he PLLA-g-MA/PEG200 film. Based on the result of SEM analysis, the plasticizer was dispersed better in PLLA
-g-MA matrix than in PLLA matrix without MA modification. Based on DMA analysis, it was found
that more plasticizer will decrease the tensile strengt
h and young modulus, but increased the elongation at break. The optimum value of elongation at break was 2,29% and 2,39% for the PLLA/PEG200 and PLLA-g-MA/PEG200 film.
