Abstract

=======================================================================================================
PT X is a company that produces fertilizer and became one of the subsidized fertilizer providers that have been trusted by the government. Effective and efficient distribution processes can provide good services to farmers who indirectly affect national food production. Vendor Managed inventory (VMI) , is a model where buyers no longer decide the ordering schedule and order quantity. However, buyers should provide actual information about requests from their customers, remaining inventory, and activity information leading to increased demand. Simulation is a form of approach to describe the actual condition of a system. Simulation is done with purpose to implement vendor managed inventory method in PT X distribution process. The simulation model is made with safety stock control variable. There are three variabel respon used for measuring perform of the system. Variabel respon used are fill rate, truck requirement, and inventory level. The recommendation from the simulation shows that the best scenario is the safety stock of one week requirement with the value of fill rate of 99.95%, and the average inventory level of 1326.75 ton.
