Abstract
Umbi Porang (Amorphophallus Oncophyllus) merupakan salah satu umbi yang memiliki kandungan asam oksalat yang tinggi. asam oksalat yang tinggi dapat menimbulkan iritasi dan gatal apabila di konsumsi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui proses ekstraksi asam oksalat pada umbi porangdengan metode microwave solvent extraction dan mechanical separation serta membandingkan kedua metode tersebut. Prosedur kerja metode mechanical separation yaitu dengan menghancurkan chip porang menggunakan disk mill kemudian tepung porang di ayak menggunakan vibrating screen dengan ayakan 60, 80, dan 100 mesh. Hasil yang paling optimum didapatkan pada ukuran 100 mesh didaptakan yield 24,98 % dan recovery 86,11 %. Pada metode microwave solvent extraction dengan tambahan dengan ratio feed to solvent: 0,05; 0,10; dan 0,15 g /ml. Waktu ekstraksi 10, 20, dan 30menit. Daya microwave yaitu 300 W, 450 W, dan 600 W. Yield dan Recovery yang paling optimum yaitu pada daya 600 W, waktu 30 menit, ratio F/S 0,05 dan ukuran bahan 100 mesh didapatkan yield 24,78 % dan recovery 42,66 %. Untuk pengujian sifat fisik melalui analisa SEM dan mikroskop didapatkan kandungan asam oksalat yang ditandai dengan terbentuknya morfologi jarum kristal sedangkan pengujian kimia melalui uji FTIR didapatkan gugus fungsi asam oksalat dan EDX didapatkan kandungan elemental asam oksalat.

Porang tuber (Amorphophallus Oncophyllus) is one of the bulb that has high oxalic acid content. High oxalic acid can cause irritation and itching if in more consumption. The purpose of this research is to know the process of oxalic acid extraction on porang tube with microwave solvent extraction and mechanical separation method and compare the two methods. The procedure of mechanical separation method is to destroy the porang chip using disk mill then porang flour in sieve using vibrating screen with sieve 60, 80, and 100 mesh. The most optimum results obtained on the size of 100 mesh obtained yield 24.98% and recovery 86.11%. In microwave solvent extraction method with addition with feed to solvent ratio: 0,05; 0.10; and 0.15 g / ml. Extraction time of 10, 20, and 30 min. The microwave power is 300 W, 450 W, and 600 W. The most optimum yield and recovery is at 600 W power, 30 min, F / S ratio 0.05 and material size 100 mesh, yield yield 24,78% and recovery 42,66%. To test the physical properties through SEM and microscope analysis obtained the content of oxalic acid characterized by the formation of crystalline needle morphology while chemical testing through FTIR test obtained functional group oxalic acid and EDX elemental oxalic acid content obtained.
