Abstract
Budaya membaca adalah salah satu budaya di masyarakat yang harus dilestarikan. Dengan membaca semakin banyak ilmu yang dapat diserap. Namun seiring berjalannya waktu, minat masyarakat dalam membaca mulai menurun. BPAD DIY, sebagai lembaga arsip daerah, membangun sebuah perpustakaan umum namun juga memiliki fasilitas lain, seperti bioskop, auditorium, dan sebagainya. Fasilitas tersebut nantinya dapat menjaga eksistensi dari perpustakaan ini. Namun beragamnya fasilitas yang ditawarkan, belum dioptimalkan pada setiap area, seperti pada area koleksi umum dimana banyaknya jumlah pengunjung yang masuk tidak sebanding dengan luasnya area, serta tidak terdapatnya area diskusi yang menyebabkan beberapa pengunjung kehilangan area privasi mereka.
Dalam penyelesaian masalah, diterapkan beberapa metode seperti kuisioner, studi literasi dan observasi kepada pengunjung. Metode tersebut dilakukan dalam jangka waktu tertentu seperti pada kondisi ramai dan sepi, sehingga dapat diketahui permasalahan apa yang ada di perpustakaan.
Berdasarkan analisa yang dilakukan, ditarik suatu konsep mandiri rekreatif yang dapat diterapkan pada perpustakaan. Penerapan konsep ini bertujuan untuk lebih menarik minat pengunjung agar datang ke perpustakaan dan memberikan eksperimen baru tentang perpustakaan. Setelah desain diaplikasikan, akan dilakukan studi tingkat kepuasan pengunjung dan jumlah peningkatan pengunjung.

Reading is one culture in our society that must be preserved. Reading can also improve our knowledge. But over time, people's interest in reading began to decline. BPAD DIY, as a regional archive institution, built a public library but also has other facilities, such as cinema, auditorium, and another. The facility will be able to maintain the existence of this library. But the variety of facilities offered, not yet optimized in every area, such as the general collection area where the number of incoming visitors is not comparable with the area, and there is no discussion area that caused some visitors to lose their privacy area.
In solving the problem, applied several methods such as questionnaires, literacy studies and observations to visitors. The method is done within a certain time as in crowded and quiet conditions, so it can be known what problems exist in the library.
Based on the analysis conducted, drawn a self-reliant recreative concept that can be applied to the library. Implementation of this concept aims to attract more visitors to come to the library and provide new experiments about the library. After the design is applied, will be study the level of visitor satisfaction and the number of visitors increase.
