Abstract

Mesin bubut merupakan suatu jenis mesin perkakas yang dalam proses kerjanya memotong atau menyayat benda kerja yang berputar dengan menggunakan mata potong pahat sebagai alat untuk memotong. Bagian mesin bubut yang memutar benda kerja adalah Spindle. Penggerak Spindle yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah Motor DC penguat terpisah. Dalam proses pemotongan benda kerja terjadi variasi kedalaman potong yang mengakibatkan variasi kecepatan putar Spindle. Berdasarkan hasil simulasi didapatkan bahwa dengan menerapkan kontroler PID ¬step-response sistem memiliki overshoot 11,03% dan bila terjadi variasi kedalaman mata potong paha maka kecepatan spindle dapat dikembalikan ke keadaan steady-state. Semakin dalam kedalaman mata potong pahat maka semakin besar recovery time-nya. ============== Turning machine is a kind of machine tool that in the process of working cut a rotating workpiece by using cutting chisel as a tool to cut. The lathe part that rotates the workpiece is Spindle. The Spindle drive used in this study is a separate excited DC motor. In the process of cutting the workpiece there is a variation of cutting depth which resulted in spindle rotation speed variation. Based on the simulation results it is found that by applying PID controller on Spindle system that spindle rotation speed response has overshoot about 11,03% and if there are variation on depth of cut the spindle speed can be maintain at steady-state value. The deeper depth of cut then the larger recovery time.
