Abstract

Korosi adalah kerusakan material karena reaksi dengan lingkungannya. Pengaruh korosi sangatlah besar diantaranya bisa mengakibatkan menurunnya kualitas baja yang mengakibatkan baja menjadi cepat rusak. Coating diperlukan sebagai perlindungan baja agar korosi yang terjadi bisa diperkecil. Korosi dapat juga terjadi akibat proses produksi lambung kapal yang mengalami berbagai macam perlakuan diantaranya pembengkokan (bending). Pengujian laju korosi dilakukan menggunakan coating epoxy dengan dua variasi yaitu dengan variasi ketebalan coating dan radius bending. Material uji dibending dengan variasi radius bending 120°, 135°, 150°, 160° yang kemudian diberikan coating dengan variasi ketebalan yang telah ditentukan. Dari 36 material uji 12 diantaranya tidak dicoting, 12 lainya dicoating dengan ketebalan ± 250μ, dan 12 yang terakhir dicoating dengan ketebalan ± 400μ. Pengujian dan perhitungan laju korosinya menggunakan metode elektrokimia. Dari hasil percobaan dapat disimpulkan bahwa material yang dicoating tidak akan muncul laju korosinya kecuali material uji mengalami cacat coating. Sedangkan material yang tidak dicoating dengan variasi radius bending 120° laju korinya sebesar 8.992 mm/year, dengan radius bending 135° sebesar 33.908 mm/year, denga radius bending 150° sebesar 8.148 mm/year, dan dengan radius bending 165° sebesar 19.576 mm/year. ========================================================================================================= Corrosion is the deterioration of material due to a reaction with its environment. Corrosion is a big influence of which can result in decreased quality of steel into a steel resulting in rapid deterioration. Coating is necessary for protection of steel so that the corrosion would be minimized. Corrosion can also occur as a result of the production process hull suffered a wide range of treatments including bending. Tests carried out using the rate of corrosion epoxy coating with two variations of the variation coating thickness and bending radius. Dibending test material with a bending radius variation of 120 °, 135 °, 150 °, 160 ° and then given a coating with a predetermined thickness variation. Of the 36 test material 12 of them did not dicoting, 12 other dicoating ± 250μ in thickness, and the last 12 with a thickness of ± 400μ dicoating. Testing and calculation of corrosion rate using an electrochemical method. From the experimental results it can be concluded that the material dicoating will not appear unless the corrosion rate of test material coating disability. While the material is not dicoating with variations of the bending radius of 120 ° rate korinya of 8992 mm / year, with a bending radius of 135 ° for 33 908 mm / year, premises bending radius of 150 ° at 8148 mm / year, and with a bending radius of 165 ° for 19 576 mm / year.
