Abstract

Salah satu bagian paling penting dari kapal selain konstruksi dan mesin terdapat propeller sebagai sistem propulsi berupa baling-baling, berputarnya propeller akan menghasilkan daya dorong yang akan membuat kapal dapat berlayar, Pada kapal MV.Meratus Barito dilakukan modifikasi daun propeller dikarenakan terjadi overload pada mesin dan berakibat berkurangnya sea margin pelayaran, sea margin sangat penting sebagai daya cadangan karena saat pelayaran terdapat ombak besar dan hewan laut yang menempel pada kulit kapal, untuk memenuhi kebutuhan standar sea margin maka dilakukan modifikasi berupa pemotongan daun propeller untuk mengurangi beban mesin dan dapat menambah persentase sea margin. Proses modifikasi daun propeller yang dilakukan terlebih dahulu membuat gambar 4 model propeller dengan ukuran diameter 2700 mm,2650 mm,2600 mm dan 2550 mm.Setelah pembuatan model selesai 4 model tersebut di simulasikan sehingga dapat di ketahui pressure,torque,.area dan wall shear. Sehingga data yang di didapat yaitu daya propeller, efisiensi propeller, thrust dan torsi. hasil dari modifikasi propeller MV.Meratus Barito propeller yang dipilih yaitu dengan diameter 2600 mm mempunyai sea margin 15% dan efisiensi 0,537. ====================================================================================================== One of the most important parts of the ship beside construction and machinery there is propeller as system propulsion in ship, output from propeller spins will generate thrust and make the ship can sail, MV.Meratus Barito propeller modification occurred due to overload on the machine and result in reduced sea margin when sailing, sea margin is very important as the emergency power when there are big waves and barnacle or fouling on shell, to get standart of sea margin the leaf propeller need to modify with cut the trail edge to reduce engine load and can increase the percentage of sea margin . Propeller blade modification process is make the i 4 models of propeller with a diameter of 2700 mm , 2650 mm , 2600 mm and 2550 mm. than manufacture of the finished 4 models are simulated so as to be in the know of pressure , torque , and wall shear .area , So that the obtained are in power propeller , propeller efficiency , thrust and torque . the result of the modification of propeller MV.Meratus Barito propeller with a diameter of 2600 mm which has a 15 % sea margin and efficiency of 0.537.
