Abstract
Berdasarkan data dari surat kabar harian internasional The Wall Street Journal, Pariwisata adalah salah satu sumber penyumbang devisa negara terbanyak bagi Indonesia, yaitu sebesar 9% pada tahun 2014, dengan target menjadi 15% pada tahun 2019. Indonesia yang memiliki kombinasi iklim tropis, 17.508 pulau yang 6.000 di antaranya tidak dihuni, serta garis pantai terpanjang ketiga di dunia setelah Kanada dan Uni Eropa ini menjadi salah satu opsi bagi wisatawan asing untuk berlibur, atau yang saat ini lebih marak disebut “Traveling”.Tak hanya bagi wisatawan asing, fenomena traveling saat ini juga sedang marak di kalangan masyarakat Indonesia. Keberagaman aktivitas traveler saat berlibur didukung oleh berbagai macam sarana hiburan agar kegiatan traveling yang mereka lakukan lebih menyenangkan. Salah satu sarana hiburan yang dibawa oleh traveler adalah gitar. Gitar dapat menjadi sarana hiburan bagi para traveler saat berkumpul dengan orang lain, baik orang yang dikenal maupun tidak. Namun kebanyakan orang enggan membawa gitarnya saat sedang liburan dikarenakan bentuknya yang terlalu besar dan tidak compact membuatnya mengalami kesulitan saat membawa dan menyimpan. Terlebih saat harus membawanya melalui transportasi umum seperti bus atau pesawat terbang. Jika dipaksakan, dampak terburuk yang terjadi pada gitar adalah kerusakan pada gitar itu sendiri seperti pecah, terkelupas, retak, dll. Maka perlu dilakukan reduksi terhadap bentuk asli gitar menjadi lebih compact. Untuk mendapatkan data tentang gitar, dilakukan deep interview, affinity diagram, dan story telling. Selanjutnya hasil data tersebut diolah dengan beberapa studi dan analisa untuk mendapatkan konsep gitar yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan. Output desain yang dihasilkan adalah gitar yang mudah dibawa atau dijinjing saat dalam perjalanan traveling.

Indonesia has a tropical climate combination, 17,508 islands the 6,000 of which are uninhabited, and the third longest beach line in the world after Canada and the EU has become one of the options for foreign tourists to vacation, or which is now more rife called "Traveling". Not just for foreign tourists, the phenomenon of traveling also being rife among Indonesian people. The diversity of traveler’s activity while on vacation is supported by various means of entertainment for their traveling activities are more fun. One of the entertainment facilities brought by the traveler is the guitar. Guitar can be a means of entertainment for the traveler while hanging out with other people, whether known or not. But most people are reluctant to bring his guitar while on vacation because of its shape is too large and not compact makes it difficult to carry and store. Especially when it must take him through public transportation such as buses or airplanes. If imposed, the worst impact that occurs on the guitar is damage to the guitar itself such as rupture, peeling, cracking, etc. It is therefore necessary to reduce the original shape of the guitar to be more compact. To get data about the guitar, done deep interview, affinity diagram, and story telling. Furthermore, the results of the data is processed with several studies and analysis to get the concept of the guitar in accordance with the needs. The resulting design output is a guitar that is easy to carry or carry on while traveling.
