Abstract
Pengelasan sambungan pipa maupun plat harus memerhatikan adanya masalah distorsi (deformasi) yang terjadi selama proses pengelasan atau setelah material mengalami pendinginan. Untuk mengantisipasi besarnya deformasi yang terjadi salah satunya adalah penentuan pengunaan bentuk dan sudut groove.
Dalam tugas akhir dilakukan analisa untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi sudut groove (500,600,700) pada pengelasan FCAW terhadap distorsi dan tegangan sisa menggunakan metode elemen hingga material baja SS 400
Dari hasil analisa didapatkan hasil deformasi secara actual yaitu Material dengan sudut groove 500 memiliki nilai distorsi arah longitudinal sebesar 0,58 mm dan distorsi arah transversal sebesar 0,1 mm, Material dengan sudut groove 600 memiliki nilai distorsi arah longitudinal sebesar 1,12 mm dan distorsi arah transversal sebesar 0,1 mm. Material dengan sudut groove 700 memiliki nilai distorsi arah longitudinal sebesar 1,62 mm dan distorsi arah transversal sebesar 0,13 mm. tegangan sisa dilakukan pada Material dengan sudut groove 500 ,600, 700 dengan nilai berturut turut yaitu 439 Mpa, 404 MPa,dan 388 MPa

Welding of pipes and plate connections should take into account
any distortion (deformation) problems occurring during the welding
process or after the material cools down. To anticipate the amount of
deformation that occurs one of them is the determination of the use of the
shape and angle of the groove.
In the final project analysis to determine the effect of variation
of groove angle (500,600,700) on FCAW welding to distortion and residual
stress using finite element method of SS 400 steel material
From the results of the analysis obtained the actual deformation
of the material with a groove angle 500 has a distortion value of
longitudinal direction of 0.58 mm and transversal direction distortion of 0.1
mm, Material with 600 groove angle has a distortion value of longitudinal
direction of 1.12 mm and distortion of transversal direction of 0.1 mm.
Material with 700 groove angle has a longitudinal distortion value of 1.62
mm and a transversal direction distortion of 0.13 mm. residual stresses are
carried out on Materials with groove angle 500, 600, 700 with consecutive
values of 439 Mpa 404 MPa and 388 MPa
