Abstract

G. trabeum mampu mendegradasi MO
sebesar 4,94% , 41,57%, dan 47,53% setelah diinkubasi selama 0,
7 dan 14 hari. Dari proses degradasi MO oleh G. trabeum
dihasilkan metabolik produk yaitu 4-{[(4-dimetilamin-3-hidroksi) fenil] diazeni} benzensulfonat, 4-{[fenilamin]diazenil} benzensulfonat, 4-{[(4-metilamin-3-hidroksi) fenil] diazenil} benzenoksi, 4-{[(3,5-dihidroksiamin) fenil] diazenil} benzensulfonat, dan Hydroquinone.

The biodegradation of methyl orange (MO) dye by brown rot fungus Gloeophyllum trabeum was investigated. Biodecolorization of MO was conducted on potato dextrose agar (PDA) medium with a variation concentration of MO. G. trabeum had ability to decolorize MO on PDA medium in concentration of
50, 75, and 100 mg/L with each decolorization index (DI) of
0.75; 0.70 and 0.56 respectively. Biodegradation of MO was also conducted on potato dextrose borth (PDB) medium. G. trabeum degraded MO by 4.94%, 41.57%, and 47.53% after incubated for
0, 7 and 14 days, respectively. Detected metabolic products were
4-{[(4-dimethylamin-3-hydroxy) phenyl] diazenil}
benzensulfonate , 4-{[phenylamin] diazenil} benzensulfonate, 4-
{[(4-methylamin-3-hydroxy) phenyl] diazenil} benzenoxy, 4-
{[(3,5-dihydroxyamin) phenyl] diazenil} benzensulfonate, and Hydroquinone. This study indicated that G. trabeum can be used to degrade MO.
