Abstract
Analisa terhadap busur api (arc flash) dilakukan untuk
menentukan kategori Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) sebagai pelindung pekerja pada area yang berpotensi terjadi busur api (arc flash). Metode yang sering digunakan untuk analisa busur api (arc flash) menggunakan standar IEEE 1584-2002. Namun pada metode tersebut memerlukan banyak parameter yang digunakan untuk menentukan kategori PPE. Sehingga apabila sistem kelistrikan tersebut cukup besar serta memiliki bus yang banyak akan memakan banyak waktu untuk menentukan kategori PPE setiap bus. Dengan metode kurva batasan energi yang mengacu pada standar IEEE 1584-2002 untuk menentukan secara cepat dan tepat dalam penentuan kategori PPE serta pemilihan Overcurrent Protective Device (OCPD). Dimana hanya dengan kurva karakteristik pengaman bus yang dianalisa, akan dipotong dengan kurva
batasan energi. Studi aktual mengenai analisa bahaya busur api (arc flash) dilakukan pada PT. Pupuk Sriwidjaja Palembang. Pada hasil akhir dari analisa busur api (arc flash) dengan menggunakan metode kurva batasan energi didapatkan proses penentuan kategori PPE yang lebih mudah daripada standar IEEE 1584-2002, namun menimbulkan perbedaan jarak aman. ============== flash analysis do performed to determine of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) category as a protective worker in a potentially arc flash area. Frequently used method for arc flash analysis using std. IEEE 1584-2002 . But on those method needs some parameters that has to be analyzed to perform the suitable PPE category. So, if the electrical system is large and has a lot of buses will
take a lot of time to determine of each bus PPE category. By arc flash hazard analysis using energy boundary curves referring to IEEE 1584-2002 standards to determine quickly and precisely in the determination of PPE category and the selection of Overcurrent Protective Device (OCPD). Where only using relay time-current characteristic on the bus that being analysis, it will be intersected with the energy boundary curves. Actual studies regarding to arc-flash analysis conducted in PT.
Pupuk Sriwidjaja. At the end of result, arc-flash hazard analysis using energy boundary curves showed a reduction in the amount of datacollection requirements and analysis time required than using IEEE std. 1584-2002, but it gives a different result in flash protection boundary.
