Abstract

Pada sistem komunikasi gelombang mikro line of sight (LOS) point to point, yang beroperasi pada frekuensi di atas 10 GHz akan sangat rentan terhadap redaman hujan terutama pada negara-negara tropis seperti Indonesia, sehingga sangat diperlukan untuk menghitung nilai estimasi redaman hujan ini di dalam melakukan desain sistem komunikasi point to point, sebagai dasar pertimbangan di dalam mendapatkan kestabilan sistem komunikasi pada umumnya.
Penelitian ini adalah melakukan pengukuran intensitas curah hujan secara langsung menggunakan raingauge, sehingga diperoleh nilai rain rate sebagai dasar perhitungan nilai prediksi redaman hujan Synthetic Storm Technique (SST) melalui penentuan parameter k dan α berdasarkan ITU-R P.838-3 2005 dengan faktor koreksi sebesar A dan penentuan k dan α dari proses sistem regresi linear.
Hasil perhitungan nilai prediksi redaman hujan SST tersebut di atas dibandingkan dengan hasil pengukuran secara langsung pada link komunikasi 15 GHz, dengan cara mengambil nilai SSE (sum of square error) yang terkecil.
Nilai hasil perhitungan prediksi redaman hujan SST melalui penentuan k dan a berdasarkan ITU-R P.838-3 2005 dengan faktor koreksi 0,21379 adalah nilai yang mendekati hasil pengukuran langsung dengan SSE sebesar 18,065.

In line of sight (LOS) point to point of microwave communication systems, which at frequencies above 10 GHz will be particularly vulnerable to rain attenuation especially in tropical countries such as Indonesia, so it is necessary to calculate this rainfall attenuation estimation value in designing of point-to-point communication systems, as the basic of consideration in getting stability of communication system in general.
This research is to measure rainfall intensity directly using raingauge, so as to get rain rate value as basic calculation of Synthetic Storm Technique rainfall prediction value (SST) through determination of k and α parameter based on ITU-R P.838-3 2005 with correction factor of A and determination of k and α from the linear regression system process.
The result of SST rain attenuation prediction value above compared to the result of measurement directly on 15 GHz communication link, by taking the smallest SSE (sum of square error) value.
The results of the predicted rain attenuation SST through the determination of k and  based on the ITU-R P.838-3 2005 with correction factor 0.21379 is a value close to the result of direct measurement with SSE of 18,065.
