Abstract

Stroke terjadi ketika suplai darah terhambat sehingga sel-sel otak mulai mati. Ketika sel-sel otak mati akibat stroke, maka kemampuan yang seharusnya dikendalikan oleh area otak seperti memori dan kontrol otot hilang. Lebih lanjut, ini dapat menyebabkan cedera otak, cacat dan pada situasi terburuk, dapat menyebabkan kematian. Stroke sebenarnya dapat disembuhkan melalui rehabilitasi menggunakan sepeda rehabilitasi pasca-stroke, dan dapat dimulai di rumah sakit sesegera mungkin setelah pasien didiagnosa stroke. Tujuan rehabilitasi stroke adalah untuk membantu pasien mempelajari kembali keterampilan yang hilang ketika stroke mempengaruhi bagian otak mereka. Beberapa penelitian tentang pengembangan produk sepeda rehabilitasi pasca stroke telah dilakukan oleh Laboratorium Desain Produk dan Pengembangan, Jurusan Teknik Mesin ITS. Namun, prototipe saat ini menunjukkan bahwa produk tersebut belum siap untuk dikomersialkan. Hal itu karena produk tersebut masih dalam pengembangan dan belum selesai. Pengembangan produk ini belum mempertimbangkan dan menangkap implicit needs pelanggan terhadap produk. Salah satu teknik yang dapat menangkap faktor-faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap kepuasan pelanggan dalam produk adalah Kansei Engineering. Melalui penggunaan metode ini, perasaan & emosi tertentu dari pelanggan dapat ditangkap dalam desain produk. Selanjutnya, untuk membuat produk tersedia di tempat terdekat pasien, strategi komersialisasi yang sesuai harus dirumuskan. Mengingat, salah satu tantangan pada produk ini adalah bahwa sepeda rehabilitasi pasca stroke adalah produk yang tidak umum, oleh karena itu tidak dapat dengan mudah dikomersialisasikan. Metode yang memungkinkan pengembangan strategi komersialisasi produk ini adalah pendekatan New Marketing Mix. Pendekatan ini akan memberikan perspektif berbasis produk dan konsumen untuk merumuskan strategi yang sesuai untuk komersialisasi produk. ==========================Stroke occurs when the supply of blood is restricted or stopped, so that the brain cells begin to die. When brain cells die during a stroke, the abilities which supposed to be controlled by that area of the brain such as memory and muscle control are lost. Further, this can lead to brain injury, disability and at the worst situation, it may lead to death. Further, a common way to cure stroke is through rehabilitation using post-stroke rehabilitation bicycle, actually starts in the hospital as soon as possible after they are diagnosed of stroke. The goal of stroke rehabilitation is to help the patient relearn the skills lost when a stroke affected part of their brain. Several research about the product development of the post-stroke rehabilitation bicycle has been carried out by Product Design and Development Laboratory of Mechanical Engineering Department ITS. However, the current prototypes indicates that the product is not ready to be commercialized yet. It is because the product is still under development and has not yet completed. This product development has not considered and captured the hidden needs of the customer toward the product. One of the technique strive to understand the factors that contribute to the costumer’s satisfaction in the product is Kansei Engineering. Through the use of this method, certain feeling & emotions of the customer can be captured in the product design. Further, to make the product available at the nearest place of the patients, the suitable commercialization strategy should be formulated. One of the challenge is that the post-stroke rehabilitation bicycle is an uncommon product, therefore it cannot be easily commercialized. A method that enables the commercialization strategy development of this product is New-Marketing Mix approach. This approach will provide both the product-based and the consumer based perspective to formulate the suitable strategy for the product commercialization.
